Criminally Listed
The most famous case involving forensic linguistics is the capture of Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber. FBI Agent James Fitzgerald and his team analyzed Kaczynski’s writing for clues to identity.
Everyone develops habits that effect the way they speak and write. According to forensic linguists, these habits result in a linguistic fingerprint. The way you talk and the words you use are unique just to you.
These cases all involve specialists in the field analyzing written clues to determine who is innocent of a crime, and who is guilty.

Lol- cant cach me! I ALWAYS change my words! Wood you kn how?
You have one of the dreariest monotonal voices I've ever heard, making an otherwise interesting video exceptionally difficult to watch.
Great video! would love to see you post a video about Forensic First, like the first case where a new Forensic test was used to catch the killer/perpetrator!! like for example, when Human/pet/plant d.n.a was used for the first time to catch a suspect, eventually making Forensic history!! Where the detective ended up thinking outside "the box" to test evidence! Yeah that would be Cool to see a compilation of cases where new Forensic tests worked to solve a case!! ?
The person talking sounds like a depressed Chills.
this dudes voice makes me wanna rip my ears off
All I can think was this guy sounds like "Burger King foot lettuce" guy
Do they enforce these laws in the sharia areas coppers are afraid to go to?
I really do like your video but why do you talk so slowly? Its so painful waiting for you to finish a sentence.
Thank you great video ??
Are you insinuating that a police officer will lie to make a case and then lie about the lie? I don't believe for one second that there is even the slightest truth to that. All police officers are saint like and would NEVER lie in order to make a charge stick !!! SARCASIM INTENDED. EVERYONE is slowly waking up to the hypocrisy and strong arm tactics of the war zone trained modern day police ……. They had taken the old motto of " TO PROTECT AND SERVE " off a majority of their cars around the country, some depts. Still use it. But they don't try to bullshit anyone anymore. I think they should replace the old motto with " TO BULLY , BEAT , AND KILL " I always thought people who would say " well not all cops are bad " were so naieve. Because when a person is sactioned by the State and Federal governments and have the power over life or the ability to take away your freedom or financially strain a person then one is way too many. And unfortunatly people have awoken to sooooooooooooo many more bad cops than just one.
And the Bentley/Craig case shows exactly why joint enterprise is such a flawed concept in law and must be totally dispensed with.
Very interesting video. Thanks.
15:00 For our American viewers, the term "grass me up" means to snitch on someone.
Why the fuck would you censor shit and bitch on a channel about rape and murder? Please at least reduce the volume of the beeps.
No reference to the Ghislene Marshal murder by (maybe) Homar Raddad? It was so sordid, that it actually made me feel sick at the time it happened. I was 6 years old at the time, but they talked quite a lot about it for a long time.
I remember the first case. It was amazing how it came down to the confession.
Thanks for the English Lesson dude n the 3or 4 times you had to repeat those sentences
Been subbed for a while, this video made me finally click the bell.
those ads in the middle of the video are really annoying. hope your getting paid well for those…
The film about the Derek Bentley case is so so good
hanged at 19… barbaric
I have seen #1 somewhere before and his parents are fucking loons. They blame his wife for not fulfilling her duties (fucking him and being his servant) that caused him to cheat. Seriously they are straight up evangelical nut jobs. They believe he is innocent and being framed.
Fucking mistress, another Chris Watts here!?
Unabomber wasn't caught by forensic linguists. He was caught because his brother read the manifesto and realized it sounded just like his brother. He called and turned him in.
Just me… I think if were watching videos about horrific murders we can handle swear words… That loud ear raping beep over the "F" word was really annoying
columia illinois for the colemans. i live near their and my sons aunt was a paralegal for the family lawyer
I don't think him saying "the gun" instead of "a gun" should make any difference… He would've been acquainted with the gun as soon as Chris fired. From that point on, the gun is significant to him, hence "the gun". Combined with the fact that he had an IQ of 77… how can these specific linguistic interstices be enough to show his guilt? Not excusing his actions but he could've been simply "along for the ride" with a kid who made a bad decision, and then made to look like the ringleader because of his age.
Fascinating! I have a degree in Forensic psychology and this video was truly amazing. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Chris Coleman killed his family for some girl. What a WASTE! And man who can kill his wife is bad but only a monster can kill his own children!
If Chris was on his way home y would he have someone else go to his house to check???
This linguistics thing sounds shake to me. There might be other reasons not to execute this guy, but I am not buying what this expert is selling.
Not trying to be a dick but British place names with the word shire at the end are actually pronounced shear. Yorkshear instead of Yorkshire. The town Scarborough as in the song Scarborough fair is pronounced scarbra. let's not even get into the dozens of different dialects in Britain that pronounce each place name slightly different.
??? I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. When you got to the second story and you had to keep beeping yourself because of all the swear words" I was laughing my a** off.??
The narrator has the most monotonous voice I have ever heard
It'd be nice to discuss the cases here rather than us all declaring our love for the channel, holy shit.??
Yes we all appreciate his work, top notch, now let's discuss!!
The second story. Nice, a guy is exonerated after killing him 45 years before. Wow isn’t that wonderful? Not.
if the kids on the roof, the one without gun,,, if his intent was malicious or evil, his statement would have to be only 2 syllables,, in that moment amd rapidly developing circumstance,, shoot him, or kill him would be what one would say… dont ya think?
Absolutely COMPELLING! Thanks, Criminally Listed!
Lol, the narrator reading the narrative justification example in his deadpan zombified voice is hilarious
At least shit like this is dead!
The biggest crime is when the movie and music industry made movie's and records that all went together making silly pop rock records and low budget movie's creating a movie and dumb pop rock record mill there by creating a slave of who they subjected to that crap
