  1. Thanks for doing this series. I find language and textual criticism fascinating and became interested in semiology after reading "Name of the Rose" by Eco, who is a semiologist but have been to lazy to pursue it. I will watch these and begin reading.
    The argument for language preceding speech act is reminiscent of the "chicken/egg" question. Of course the egg evolved long before chickens, so wouldn't it be more correct so say that language is based on the speech instinct?

  2. oh, we're going to end up talking about robots, and all robots need programmers…should've majored in computer science 🙁 what could philosophy have to do with robot programming 🙁 haha!!
