We discuss how an inertial observer assigns space and time coordinates to an event in Special Relativity.
To identify an event on a spacetime diagram one needs its’ space and time coordinates and to determine the space and time coordinate of a physical event occurring in the real world is a non-trivial task. In this video we elaborate how an inertial observer can assign space and time coordinates to an event using his clock and a light-source and laws of Special Relativity.
