Nicely done!
Blablabla … when I was kid they told us that in the year 2000 we would all fly in independent helicopters and cars would be a thing of the past … sure
It's most likely that the US will not be capable to retool their workforce to meet the demands of this fourth industrial revolution.
AI revolution = less human needed = less environmental damage
It's one author spewing out his opinions. As a researcher of AI, I can tell you that AI still struggles with extremely simple things that we humans take for granted. The ability to perform a task well is very different from true "intelligence". Object permanence is a concept that things don't vanish, something every person above the age of 3 can understand, and our most advanced object tracking algorithms still struggle with this concept. What we think is difficult may be trivial for machines, and what we take for granted may be extremely difficult for machines. A lot of the claims that Martin makes are far from possible today, and worrying about them is like worrying about how airplanes will change human societies when we just invented the steam engine. Some of his worries such as job loss due to autonomous driving, though, are valid, and we need to start thinking about the implication to the job market and our society as AI starts to take over some lower-level jobs.
The question we need to ask ourselves: As the human jobs become machine jobs, and we no longer fulfill a necessary role in production for the 1%, what is their incentive to honor our rights and the social contract? Altruism?
I heard that the total amount of data stored on the world's computers is TEN MILLION ONE HUNDRED THOUSANDS of gigabytes
The robot is better and smart than the Democrats coz robot no complaining
3-day workweek!
John Maynard Keynes was talking about a 15 hour workweek in the 1930s, expecting it in a couple of generations. Planned Obsolescence creates unnecessary work and pollution. We could have had 3-day workweeks by the 90s. And double-entry accounting could have been made mandatory in high schools since Sputnik.
Rational consumers would have refused to buy lots of under engineered junk.
Some believe that artificial intelligence are thinking, but is not so. It is just following some mathematics, computer codes and logic rules.
Doesn't anyone realize that goods and services are made for people? If people cannot pay for them, there is no need for goods and services. On the other hand, if we can produce massive amounts of goods and services with highly efficient machines, there is no point to hold that back. The logical conclusion is that goods and services need to be free or at very low cost for everyone. That's why we make machines in the first place – to help us with the work. It's perfectly clear that everyone should benefit from the wealth produced by them.
We have to adapt to it it means we vanish
The really sad circumstance ? History has proven the terrible ability for humans if not kept bust to fall for their own self illusions, conspiracies and false beliefs for cause and effects. Leading only one place emotional driven violence as with the USA today, and fireign policy.
Tax the machines – then basic income.
If you have no customers, what would be the purpose of production?

' Project 329 is in full affect '!!! Hail Robots!!!
Dates back to 1920 and onwards..in this method the oppressor creates his own rebels and plants them amongst real rebels and thus gets the best of both world
Humans invented slavery and reduced it too. Why shouldn’t AI own humans if humans own machines? What is ownership? What is control? Love and let go… maybe somewhere in eternity that will be there too.
Windows 7 @ 10:50
It is so primitive to think about ''jobs''. Jobs era one day will be seen as an horrible period of time to be alive. In the futur people will be able to concentrate their efforts into things that matters, human things, experiencing life, emotions, family, creativity, innovations. We just live in an horrible era where we still need to do terribly mind numbing tasks for society to works.
And who is going to buy Chinese made junk from Amazon?
Scientists will use CRISPR to engineer intelligent, perfect babies that will be super-smart and creative and give AI a run for its money.
Revelation 13:15
“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.”
