Basketball Awareness Test

Aleksas Drozdovskis

As an awareness test from Transport for London it does a great job of highlighting the issue with drivers having awareness for cyclists.

  1. This video is a prime example of how we are programmed to see what is said instead of seeing what is actually there… MENTAL/SPIRIT

  2. man this videos bullshit lmao you told me to focus on the amount of passes white team made. If you just showed me the video without context I probably would have seen the moonwalking bear

  3. 😳 wow! Watching the Nation of Islam, Sunday webcast brought me here, and I actually had to watch this video a second time before I saw the man dressed up as the moonwalking bear 😮

  4. Coming back to this years later saw this 11 years ago in high school. This isnt really an observation proof. More proves the effectivity of camouflage. Which is why bikes wear the hi vis green yellow collors. I never noticed paid attention to the bear blending in with the black team.

  5. If there is one thing I know about awareness tests, is that you have to be aware of anything else than what you are supposed to be aware of

  6. I use this as part of my art lessons to teach students about seeing and observing. In art the first obstacle for all students is confidence this builds their awareness when looking at objects. To look closer in which I ask are you just seeing (counting the passes) or are you observing (seeing the dancing bear). It is very an excellent introduction

  7. Don’t feel bad – the test is a bit disingenuous- Firstly, the bear isn’t a bear- it’s a guy dressed to look like one of the teams and secondly his “moonwalking dance” is motions selected to look like he’s taking part in the activity.
If it had been “did you see the zebra on fire” everyone would have seen it.
