In this short clip we explain why the observer’s world-line serves as the time axis of the observer’s rest frame. We also explain why the world-line of a photon is a straight line with 45 degrees angle with the time axis of the spacetime diagram and also why the world-line of a material object or observer will always have an angle smaller than 45 degrees with the time axis.
