Care for the elderly could be revolutionised through a £2.5m ground-breaking international study to build culturally aware robots.
Dr Chris Papadopulos will lead a team that will test and evaluate the robots.
He tells the Today programme that being culturally sensitive is essential to making “care more effective”.
