  1. @thatamazinggeek "Bright" is a variation on themes from the Enlightenment. Bright/Light, as in, knowledge and inquiry should guide us.

I'm not a huge fan of the term, but whatev.

  2. "…We civilised men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of elimination; we build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one to the last moment…Thus the weak members of civilised societies propagate their kind… [Charles Darwin: "The Descent of Man," 1871 ed. vol. I, p. 168]

  3. Governmentalism is not capitalism. To issue trillions of cyber dollars from a privately-held central bank (the Fed)–and to hand that money over to Wall Street brokerage firms and international banking houses–and then charge it to America's middle class, with compounded daily usurious interest, is not, even remotely, true to the disciplines of free market capitalism anymore than viewing the mugging of a hot dog vendor as a career opportunity.

  4. America has lost its mind people need a university professor to tell them that "it's alright to be athiest"?
Is it now a nation of born-again bible bashing, pulpit
-pounding bigots……what happened to common sense????????

  5. You tube must have gotten its voting ethics from the old Saddam Hussein regime. Did you know that Mr. Hussein got 100% of the vote at practically every election.

  7. I've had a lot of respect for Moyers in the past in several contexts, but I don't like the way he's conducting this. I think he is a believer, but I'm getting a tone of indignation off his questions that may be a kind of prop for Dennett to work with more than anything. Feels contrived.

  8. @Psypomp nah, we dont need shit since apparently any religious fools will nvr listen to scientists who devote their lives to their work, and instead turn their eye immediately at the sound of their god not being the answer to all of lifes troubles
