If you have ever watched the anime-movie "Summer Wars" (or even the Digimon movie "Our War Game"), the paradox of AI is a slippery slope if it can be hacked and exploited.
However, what you said at the end is also necessary. Steps and things we can do already can help society or anyone in general if we keep up with what should be doing instead.
Keeping your distance is a good idea except that drivers in other lanes immediately fill that gap

Leave a safe distance and a jerk will run in front of you, and almost make you wreak. Dream on AI proponents.
