why size matters in animal behaviour?
How can a hamster survive falling from the top of a skyscraper, ants carry over 100 times their own body weight and geckos climb across the ceiling?
In the first of this year’s Christmas lectures, Dr Mark Miodownik investigates . He reveals how the science of materials – the stuff from which everything is made – can explain some of the most extraordinary and surprising feats in the animal kingdom.
By the end, you will understand why you will never see an elephant dance

I have no trouble with the sound…but the subtitles are bloody awful! Still…better than a poke in the eye with james blunt!
the subtitles called me a dumbass
well Chuck Norris burned those subtitles so now they are in silicon heaven
you no call me dumbass, dumbass!
Amazing.Perfect right from the off
You used two similar balloons for "animals" of different sizes so the one used for the largest "animal" was more expanded, allthough, course, real hamster would not have had any chance becayse there are also bones that, when broken, tend to damage organs and blood bessels, including the big ones. So couldn't you use just objects?
