Panel 3: Assuring AI For Real-World Operation

JHU Applied Physics Laboratory

From self-driving vehicles to interconnected devices, autonomous systems are an increasingly ubiquitous part of our lives. How do we assure the behavior of autonomous systems in complex real-world environments? As systems enabled by artificial intelligence (AI) begin to learn for themselves, how do we ensure that they continue to satisfy design goals while avoiding unintended consequences? Our panel brings leading researchers together with government stakeholders to explore the state of the art in autonomous systems with a focus on land and maritime applications.
