10. Beautiful man! I hope to, and think we'll see you getting into the very depth of the human condition, which is to say how pure consciousness is experienced through the human body-mind mechanism. Non duality is THE answer to all that humanity has always been looking for. The Being that you are, is before consciousness itself. Consciousness is the manifestation of pure awareness.

    Some Mooji, Sadghuru, any given Advaita Vedanta, Zen or Yogi that is "enlightened" has come to know themselves as "nothing", and yet everything.

    Everything is a complete paradox to the human body-mind complex, ego function. The intellect alone cannot grasp it.

    Non duality. And going into that, deepening into it ( paradox, can't really be done, if you really know what I mean. You are already it/that, which is ) with proper use of psychedelics, certainly helpful for the condition of the common Westerner, is utterly powerful. But the last part, of supreme liberation, is and always has to be completely "sober".

12. I believe psychedelics can lead people to some of the same thought patterns. It's so refreshing to hear you talk about panpsychism and the hard problem in the context of psychedelics. I believe these tools will be essential in trying to tackle these large questions in science and philosophy. And it's great that you can speak openly about these topics in the context of psychedelics. When i was musing on these subjects, that wasn't really the case. Our society is slowly becoming open to it. And you are a great representative of our subculture, you are a great asset to our cause!

17. As someone who is also scientifically minded, it's amazing how similar your takeways from psychedelics are to mine. We definitely live in a conscious universe, or else there would be no way for us to be conscious. I personally see conscious not as matter, but as change of matter, physical and chemical reactions. For an organized conscious, like us, it takes organized change, like the extremely organized chemical and physical reactions within our brain.

19. There's this physics paper called "Consciousness as a State of Matter". It kind of touches on some of the things you're talking about, and might be worth reading. It's also very mathy, so I personally understand none of it.

Really intriguing thoughts Quentin, I'm convinced that the mycelial network is a form of consciousness and especially mycorrhizal fungi that forms a symbiotic relationship with the trees… Once you tap into the spiritual dimension behind organic nature you discover that they are alive and they are talking to us, plants and fungi maintain equilibrium and biodiversity throughout the forest and it's without a doubt an incredibly complicated network of intelligent organisms that evolve to meet the challenges of their natural environment. For me consciousness is none local..think of your mobile phone as being your avatar,and the antenna would represent your brain.the none local signal coming from an external hub from your provider would represent the ONE unified consciousness and your brain/antenna connects to this signal and everything else you see in that individual is what he has been subjected to outside influence and through outside exposure he/she has adopted certain character traits that the individual associates with and finds comfort with…this would be your identity and your ego!

    Panpsychism is making a major comeback in scientific/philosophical circles, but in a more "updated" form.
    I recommend checking out Wheeler, Alfred North Whitehead, Peter Sjöstedt, etc among a few who take up this topic.

    Trying to understand reality from a sober "everyday" state of consousness is like saying you understand reality merely trough looking trough a key-hole. Psychedelics can reveal the primacy and sheer diversity of mental stats far beyond our normal waking state, and clearly reveals states of non-dualism (advaita vedanta), essentially what quantum physics describes. Anybody who has tried high doses of LSD with another person must have experienced states very similar to telepathy, I know many including myself who has had these mystical states of mind. We are only beginning to awaken and reundersand lost knowledge of the ancients, the living organismic/mind like Universe! Loved this post from you man!

31. "subjectivity is all there is" – This concept is frankly something everyone can benefit from understanding. In the most extreme scenario, people saying the experience of life after death that people with nde's frequently report is "just a hallucination" seem to forget the part where they're going to experience it as well on day and it will feel very real, alien, and potentially terrifying if you're not prepared or don't respect the experience. In cases that can be applied more generally to life as we know it, involving how to live your life, how to respect other's experiences, altering your own consciousness whether it be with a substance or an alteration in how you see the world, etc, all this concept can do is help you understand you need to make the most of your life because it is all you have.

32. So… You're saying the brain is a receptor… a sixth sense for consciousness. Now explain how your receptor distinguishes you from me. To do that, you need a compatible theory of the ego. Or, are we all the same, sans ego? ✌️

From my humble opinion, I would say that, even though it isn't possible to acknowledge a consciousness that is one's, if plants were to have some sort of consciousness -assuming it to be the thought of one's self-, they can't modify the world in the same way to us, that is, they aren't capable of transforming their branches into some useful way of improving their lives. Their categories are beneath ours, so to speak. That wouldn't think of anything as a cause of smth or as a unity. Likewise, we could be plants to some sort of upper-smth. That is, we would think we are able to modify the world to our desire extent whilst being conditioned by our categories. We would be, therefore, unable to "see" the world as it is, as our categories limit us from the world itself.
