A judge of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Dhananjaya Chandrachud was one of the high profile speakers at the 2017 Deakin Law School Conference. Justice Chandrachud highlighted the idea of artificial intelligence is to not supplant the human mind or the presence of judges, but to provide a facilitative tool to judges to reassess the processes which they follow, to reassess the work which they do ensuring outcomes are more consistent and ultimately provide wider access to justice to the common citizens.
Justice Chandrachud believed that the DLS Conference offers a range of benefits such as ‘the substantive content of the conference gives judges, lawyers, and academicians one platform to bring together their thoughts and share their experiences and above all learn of what the new cutting edge technologies are’.
This is a 4 part series comprising of a promo video and 2 other interviews from 2 keynote speakers from the conference.
