Drawing & Painting – The Virtual Instructor
Learn how to draw a person from an extreme angle or in perspective in this lesson. More on this lesson can be found here…http://thevirtualinstructor.com/foreshortening.html
Drawing the figure in perspective is all about understanding distortion and how it affects the major sections of the body.

2:40 "affects the lingth". You pronounce length as lingth, but sound basically American – must have some Australian influence in your accent somewhere?

YEAH THIS GUY REALLY SOUND LIKE THE ONE FROM YT BRIGHT SIDE
This vid helped a ton, thank you so much
bruh u didn't say anything in the video
That pose is kinda easy you should make video part 2 about dynamic action pose that thing is hard
I totally missed this lesson because of trying to figure out what kind of accent he has..
Whose art teacher linked this
Not a how to. Just what it does. Needs retitled
This video was useless
I’m GONNA CRY I CANT
Oh cool so just do it right then, why didn't I think of that
Are you the guy from terrible writing advice?
This is not an insult it's a channel on youtube and your voices are similar
Change the title of this video!
At this point I’m giving up on art. I tried pencil and paper NO, I tried Acrylic painting- NO, now I’m trying digital art and it’s already flopping. I don’t think art is for me bc if you’re just starting, ofc it’s not gonna be very good but it just bothers me so badly. I feel like I’m never gonna get better. I’m not getting that satisfying feeling, I get STRESS😭
how do i image fov's like in videogames
Thanks! I use Sketchbook on iPad for figure drawing, character design, and animation. My channel is still fresh, but have a look: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0SF3obovubKgRI7JjXBB8g/featured
I need mega help with this
but can you tell us… how the fuck we use it?
How do I use it tho?
just curious: are you like australian-american or vice versa?
I needed this like HELLA NEEDED THIS…..*LIKE HELLA NEEEEEDDDDEEEEDDD*
Thanks for sharing this. I'll try this. 😊
Using geometric shapes to set the contour lines of the body along with lines for the stick-figure, do you have suggestions on how to use the cross-contour lines to define & maintain the proportions of the body while drawing in perspective? As this video defines foreshortening, would you consider following it with one which demonstrates how to determine correct/better/more precise line length(s) when drawing In perspective?
don't blame him for your lack of comprehension, he said the key to foreshortening if you didn't understand that's on you, this was really helpful!
Me: How do I draw in perspective
This video: To draw in perspective, draw in perspective
this makes me wanna move to 3D
A test question I got wrong was about defining foreshortening.
Is there a drawing tutorial channel that doesn't talk down to viewers like they are morons who are perplexed by the idea of space or distance?
bs
I think the easiest way is just download human model from the internet…
Nice its really help to me ! Done subscribe 👍
Whenever I see any tutorial on YouTube I always think How they do it it is so simple but it's tuff
Thank you so much! that was so useful🙏
I'm trying to find out how the proportions, how the percentage of change occurs to line lengths. this has not been helpful in that regard. it is a helpful tip to simplify the forms and add cross contours but the glaring issues is know how big to make things when close up and how small to make them at distance. I will keep looking, if i find something I shall return and add a link…………… IM BACK! https://youtu.be/wApKArpbxmY?t=439 VERY HELPFUL IN UNDERSTANDING SIZE CHANGE!
Would it be the same if I distort my sketches in a vertaling perspective. Using the tool on pro create?
Cool
this is more of an informational video instead of a tutorial
Thank you for making this 🙂
Thank You.
Great explanation but the problem is the video is too fast im trying to replecate what you're doing but it's to darn fast.
