GPT-3 very impressive artificial intelligence advancing exponentially I can see how it could be used to make robots conscious and give us telepathy! The future is the 2020’s and beyond the best time to live in the last industrial age on Earth!
This is all very fascinating to me. Up to this point, AI generated text was always easily distinguished from human text just from lack of context in text and stuff. No matter how accurate these predictions, this is a truly impressive feat accomplished by OpenAI
GPT is simultaneously hyper-ambitious and behind the times 😂 Every time it mentioned we'll see the first brain-machine interface demo, I was like, "We've had those for a long time now… like, at least 15 years…" When I was in middle school, unintelligible muttering years ago, there was news about a BCI being implanted into a monkey which allowed it to control a robot arm with its thoughts alone. Sounds super futuristic, but the motor cortex is one of the most studied and understood parts of the brain.
At the same time, it also started talking about beaming visual cortex data directly from one brain to another, and that… well, THAT is ambitious 😂 There was a very recent study — like, this year I think, or if not, just last year — where scientists were able to draw patterns of light onto a person's vision by directly stimulating their visual cortex. It was good enough for them to see and recognize letters. But big bright lights is vastly simpler than copying detailed, full-color vision, so I doubt we'll get to that point for another 10 years as a generous minimum.
But I appreciate GPT's optimism 😂
That said… until I saw GPT-3 in May of this year, I wouldn't have believed we had AI at that level of generality and performance, either, so who knows? Maybe I'm underestimating human progress again and Elon Musk truly has gone full Iron Man, with comic book technology and all.
I expect GPT will be a kind of "language center" or processing module in a larger AGI. If you look at the way the human brain works, it seems to contain several different processing areas that are coordinated. GPT seems pretty unreliable for organization, but amazing at working with language (as it was designed to do just that).
Just the fact that you are able to generate good quality human readable news for this video using GPT3 is mind-blowing enough. Lol.
GPT-3 doesn't have any of it's own opinions, it tries to mimic what a person would write, so I think calling these predictions would be accurate
I think Neuralink or BCIs in general pose as great a threat as AGIs do to the future of humans. Smartphones have already decimated people's mental health and motivation, as well as providing a mechanism for controlling the population through social media. As soon as we link this directly to our brains the problem will be amplified 100 times
It needs to be passed into law that BCIs must run exclusively free and open source software and not be connected to the internet. No one wants their brain to be hacked
Great video, now waiting for Elon Musk to announce that neuralink is ready in 6 month. Thank you GPT-3
Three little pigs…now imagine you could hook up the right bit to GPT-4. Talking pigs? Really interesting and more progress than I had expected.
the gpt3 is right, it was planned end of 2020 after fda approval, but they just did it to gertrude the piggie

getting the original value from hash
The more of 2020 I go through the more insane 2021 seems like it will be.
Not already neuralinked?
On the dreaded apple media front – most of the large US media companies have shares in this company. Hence the disproportionate and mostly unjustified coverage they get.
If it wasn't for Elon Musk very few would have heard about Neuralink. US media in general aren't the most intelligent bunch. What they lack in intelligence they more than make up for in bias.
What did you tell openAI in order to give you access? B)
It was strange receiving predicated news from an AI. Makes you wonder what news will be like in the future 👀
