1. the finger print didn't match, the DNA didn't match and he has strong alibi. it is either he can teleport or he didn't do it, if you go the conspiracy theory route he hire a hit-man but you can always trace the bank account for that unless he borrowed someone money but that sound tedious not to mention you need some serious backer(connection) and a lot planning need to be put. the police should expand the suspect circle not just limit it to nick alone and they know that it is not him based on evidence. her other ex. the deputy sheriff could be suspect too, now they try to put nick on other separate charge that is breaking restraining order. from what i can see it doesn't look good for nick especially when you are black in white majority neighborhood and the ex. the deputy sheriff are a likely suspect.

9. Part of me thinks they did the strip search, looking for the leg wound but also for scratches/wounds that could be seen as being inflicted during a struggle. I absolutely see they got tunnel vision for Nick & were more concerned with getting evidence against him than getting evidence that may not line up but would advance the case.

16. The EX (police officer) gave me bad vibes right away. He claimed to have left his new girlfriend to be with the bereaved ex and stay with her to comfort her because he had "always been there for her.". He strikes me as a stalker. Like the type to create drama to be in her life. He was known to be violent towards her, had sued her when she broke up with him, and she had been worried enough to say she felt her CHILDREN were in danger of him. Garret knew him and may have let him in. He was a suspect.. and I think he really should continue to be one. The fact that the DNA evidence seems to be lacking in this case is baffling.. sounds like a coverup. They submitted a partial DNA profile of "someone who COULD be consistent with Hillary" however it was tossed out because it was processed in an unqualified lab, using unsubstantiated techniques. You cant use new technology that haven't been substantially tested in a murder trial. Also, rumors are leads, how many of those were followed up on? If the word on the street is some kids did it, there may be something to it. Most disturbing to me is the mothers silence.

19. I found this video today. This case is 20miles from where I live. This case rocked all the towns close to it. There still is no justice for him.

20. This is so sad. Nick had nothing to do with this, and why Garrett's mother would think he did is beyond me. There was no accusation of abuse, only that Nick was a disciplinarian. My husband is a combat veteran, medically discharged from the Army after 3 deployments to Iraq from 2005-2010. He also uses regimental discipline with our boys, ie, pushups, exercise, etc, though not QUITE as regimental as the actual military, naturally. The two of them breaking up, relationship-wise, does NOT give a motive to him to sneak into the apartment and murder her son… that's a HUGE leap to make! The cop boyfriend, in that case, would have just as much motive, if not MORE, to kill Garrett. None of it makes sense! Definitely incompetent police work. 100%. And sadly, whoever killed this little boy is still walking free because of it.

22. Shame on you, using racism as a reason to finger Nick. I don't believe Nick did it, BUT I don't believe him being a suspect had ANYTHING to do with him being black. Leave race out of the equation and stick to the relevant facts.

24. Who could quickly bolt from a 2nd floor window and no one sees anyone suspicious? Who knew he was going home? I'm sure he told some kids he played ball with. My 1st theory is a kid possibly saw him on his way home and followed him upstairs and as soon as the door closed he started attacking Garrett. Or some kind of scenario like that. Also the door initially wasn't locked which is something I think and adult would do immediately.
    My 2nd theory is perplexing to me. From watching all these true crime shows, I've learned that most grown men who kill children do it for sexual pleasure which is absolutely disgusting! It just doesn't seem to fit BC there was no DNA on Garrett's body.
    There's a couple different senarios about how his killer got inside. 1.Did someone break in b4 he got home? 2. They let themselves in since the door was unlocked. 3.Someone knocked on the door and barged in on him. 4. The worst one of all, did he invite his killer in.

25. I just fell in love with your channel recently and I was so happy to see you covering this case!

    I was attending Clarkson University in Potsdam and this was a really heartbreaking situation. The town truly was small and where they lived was on the only Main Street so we thought of him all the time. I still have my “Justice for Garrett” sign which was in our window.

    I hope one day he truly will get justice, he will always be Potsdam’s angel.

    (Many of us from school still believe that it was the police officer, there was a lot of racial tension surrounding this case)

26. This case has had my heart since day one of hearing it.. You would think this could be solved by DNA testing on Garret because people can leave skin cells, or somehow by the window.. just really weird the boyfriend & her broke up & he get murdered.. Very sad case all around. 😢💔🙏
