Thought we might share some progress on our Intelligent Avatars powered completely by open source technology including Tacotron 2 + Waveglow, Deepspeech, Mycroft AI, and Unreal Engine. This means they can run offline while also being very privacy focused.
We have some other things done not shown in this video like random looking directions for the eyes, and procedural body animations depending on the conversation context.
New “skills” for the Avatars can be coded using Mycroft AI’s simple python API. So this avatar could give you a weather forecast but also use GPT-3 or something similar as a general fallback.
