  1. An incredible and touching voice! I myself am not jewish, but I have a lot of appreciation for cantorial music. From what I have heard (mostly from the archive of the University of Florida), I am most impressed by the art of Cantors Luis Danto and Leib Glantz. Jewish (cantorial) singers like Luis Danto have not only presented outstanding interpretations from the genuinely jewish sphere in different ethno-cultural contexts like the tradition of jiddish songs from Eastern Europe and sephardic music in other regions, but have also excelled in the interpretation of songs from their non-jewish cultural contexts. With regard to Luis Danto I particularly admire his wonderful Russian songs.

  2. Cantor Louis Danto, my friend and my beloved teacher, taught me for my Bar Mitzvah and later on nusach Hatefilah and voice. What a great man. I miss him very much. Chaval al davdin dlo mishtakchin. Yhe zeechro baruch. Cantor Elihu Feldman

  3. Cantor Danto, z'l, was the greatest interpreter of our liturgical music. I was lucky to hear him conduct the Shabat and the High Holidays prayers at the Beth Emeth Synagogue in Toronto for more than 20 years. We miss him a lot! May his memory be blessed forever and ever Amen
