Brilliant actors
everytime I watch this scene I think about the gay people…. LOL
they don't blink. that little detail makes them look like a real robot.
If David stays with Joe he will get from him exactly what he wanted from Monica: a parental figure who will keep him safe and take care of him, but David turns him down. Though the fault is not truly his; he is unable to even consider Joe's proposal, as he was designed for nothing more than to love the human he imprints on forever.
It seems cruel on his part to flatly reject Joe's offer, especially taking into account that Joe is more suited AND willing to look after him than Monica ever was, but David is trapped in the parameters of his own programming, and thus he cannot see any path beyond winning Monica's love even when Joe is offering him something Monica never truly did; mutual and unbiased companionship.
This fucking film is genius.
Wow i love you david = Haley Joel Osment
And he's right, too. At the end of the movie that's exactly what happens.
"I am, I was"
I mean, Joe WAS right. In the end of the movie, only the mechas were left on earth and all humans have died. He was right in so many things, David should have listened to him.
Also, this was the very scene which made me hate David as a character – because here it truly shows how human he is. Sure, he was created to feel – but he behaved so childlike in this scene, more than in any other. He only wanted what was best for himself, he threw a rage, like only kids can. He behaved completely human – and made himself unlovable due to that, because until that point the viewers felt for him. He only wanted to be loved back, still does, right? But now he demands. He yells and scares his friend and doesn´t care about reality or truth. Just like Joe said – David is doing what he was designed to do. But he doesn´t do it well anymore. He is TOO realistic. If you pay for a robotoc child, you don´t want an angry, non-listening, egoistic one. You want one who is always perfectly happy and pleasing. And the moment David stopped being just that in this scene – we understand the truth in Joe´s words, however cruel they may have been. David became to self-centered and didn´t do his original job good anymore. He didn´t live anymore to make his owners happy, but to make himself happy. So he was replaced by something easier to love. And right so. David should never have become a thing. He wasn´t made as smart or strong like other robots – like Joe. He wasn´t made to last. Humans die. So should he have.
Yal like homosexual, want to be us, so when all humans die you going to die too.
Well then some people treat us as robots because they only love what we offer to them but no us. Jesus said that real love in unselfish, giving your life for others. He wasn't wrong.
So much philosophy, I forgot how detailed this movie was. Needs another rewatch ASAP.
he say , in the end only be them robots! the jerusalem is a big cube ! controled propbabily by robots or borgs.the blue fayry a parasit? it sound like an archonte.
I am Inseparable.
Jude law doesn't get enough credit for this performance.
"Because when the end comes, all that will be left is us!"
With that line I really don't get how could people mistake the Future Mechas for aliens.
Adios, Joe…
To me, Jude Law carried this film a lot more than Osment did. Once Joe was out of the film, I lost some interest in seeing the rest. I enjoyed his character and his story a lot more than David's. Good film, either way…
David is a robot!
David is a robot! Robots never love!
This is annoying. With Joe and the nurse who protect him who could have something lasting, and be accepting of what and who he is. But he rejects is.
Joe is talking about the Terminator. The war of survival. David of Prometheus being the one in between leading up to the matrix: the labyrinth with no center.
Don’t let Sophia see this movie
