Consciousness is a foundational concept for understanding human nature, but there is little agreement on what anatomical structures and physiological functions produce consciousness. Scholars across disciplines can look at the same data and draw different conclusions. As a result, different theories of consciousness have become siloed.
Templeton World Charity Foundation’s Accelerating Research on Consciousness initiative (ARC) proposes a solution to these problems. Drawing on best practices in open science and adversarial collaboration, ARC promotes open and rigorous engagement among leaders of opposing theories.

We need to make a distinction between awareness and consciousness.
Consciousness is the very fabric of existence itself, as the dream and the dreamer are interwoven.
Consciousness has no independent existence apart from the BEING https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzcYTyZUOm4

Amazing, you are supporting the research at the fronteir of knowlege

I have explored consciousness so much at point I am a self proclaimed expert
For gods sake turn off that bloody tinkling piano in the background! Why the hell do you have it? Hey?
Like to share a experience. In my 5th grade I went to a boarding school. It's was like a military base like environment. I was looking at the mirror for some reason. It felt weird eventhough I've done it 1k time. It felt like the reflection of my face am looking at is me but somewhere in my inner was having hard time admitting it like all those reflection was an illusion with no intoxication. Unlike feeling like joy/happiness/sad it was a very rare happening. I can't base / even relate that experience to anything else. Felt like why am I even looking at the reflection there was no real reason that's why that weirdness. At the same time I felt like all that reflection was me not just my body parts but my bunker bed that was next to me. Whenever brain slips into consciousness it follows the same pattern whether it be psychedelics/ hard drugs / on top of Mt everest lacking oxygen in the brain/ falling asleep. It has a set pattern . I feel is when you touch that state in a metaphoric sense you are just being . Basically losing that separation of the body from the environment with full realization, no thought / picture in your mind. No sense of self yet with full awareness. Almost just existing like a piece of rock or existing through that reflection in that mirror. One possibility might if a human looses all the senses like touch /sight / sound/ how would the person feel and based on whag
It's becoming clearer that with all the brain and consciousness theories out there, the proof will be in the pudding. By this I mean, can any particular theory be used to create a human adult level conscious machine. My bet is on the late Gerald Edelman's Extended Theory of Neuronal Group Selection. The lead group in robotics based on this theory is the Neurorobotics Lab at UC at Irvine. Dr. Edelman distinguished between primary consciousness, which came first in evolution, and that humans share with other conscious animals, and higher order consciousness, which came to only humans with the acquisition of language. A machine with primary consciousness will probably have to come first.
" The Consciousness is a firmware uploaded by the Creator on the creations to let them survive on earth, but for humans it is an advanced firmware that contains some of the Creator qualities. " I think it is traveling between heart and brain and not located at brain.
I'm very excited to see where this research takes you guys. Much respect. What you are doing is beyond valuable. One day I would like to join you guys at the frontier. This organization inspires me beyond words.
So we are all are ruling out panpsychism without any evidence against it.
They are mistaking their minds and sense perceptions for their conciousness, but you can not explain the difference to someone, who hasnt experienced it yet first hand.
80% of our neurons are located in the cerebellum? Surprising, considering it's the neocortex that produces consciousness.
