  1. Great video, but the panning of audio, (Gates and Pinker in each speaker) is really not a good idea. Makes it hard to listen to. You could do it VERY subtly if you want, but I'd probably not do even that.

  2. Good series. I'm surprised the topic of drug prohibition wasn't mentioned. I would have thought that to be significant. Also instead of talking about 'violence' as a homogeneous phenomena, it would be interesting to talk about specific forms of violence, and their causes. I would imagine not all the violence in the 60's fell out of the sky but was probably provoked in the majority of cases.

  3. Now This Is Digital Disruption

For why would anyone watch 'free-to-air' TV with all the unimaginative ads when you can listen two the most intelligent people in the world talk 'one on one'. Actually, I'd like an in-depth analysis of the psychology of Gates' 'Maths 55'' class, but I'm happy to concede that this far more important and equally as interesting.

Nonetheless, the cultural explanation fits, with the obvious contribution from hard drugs driving up violence in the sixties. But were people in the nineties then less violent, or was there a lesser number of violent people in the nineties?.A subtle but critical distinction, which is possibly explained by the increased frequency of, or access to, family planning for all social classes from the early seventies.
