Rapid developments in understanding the brain, the most complex structure in the known universe, are teaching us about the molecular and cellular bases of its structure and function. Yet little is known about the processes involved in memory, perception, mental illness, and consciousness. Gain an introduction to neuroscience, with a focus on vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. We will also discuss the mysteries of how the brain relates to mentality and consciousness — arguably science’s greatest unanswered question.
