Charles Robert Darwin, was an English naturalist, geologist and biologist best known for his contributions to the science of evolution.He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors and, in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace, introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding.
Daniel C. Dennett, the author of Breaking the Spell (Viking, 2006), Freedom Evolves (Viking Penguin, 2003) and Darwin’s Dangerous Idea (Simon &Schuster, 1995), is University Professor and Austin B. Fletcher Professor of Philosophy, and Co-Director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University. He lives with his wife in North Andover, Massachusetts, and has a daughter, a son, and three grandchildren. He was born in Boston in 1942, the son of a historian by the same name, and received his B.A. in philosophy from Harvard in 1963. He then went to Oxford to work with Gilbert Ryle, under whose supervision he completed the D.Phil. in philosophy in 1965. He taught at U.C. Irvine from 1965 to 1971, when he moved to Tufts, where he has taught ever since, aside from periods visiting at Harvard, Pittsburgh, Oxford, and the École Normale Supérieure in Paris.
His first book, Content and Consciousness, appeared in 1969, followed by Brainstorms (1978), Elbow Room (1984), The Intentional Stance (1987), Consciousness Explained (1991), Darwin’s Dangerous Idea (1995), Kinds of Minds (1996), and Brainchildren: A Collection of Essays 1984-1996 (MIT Press and Penguin, 1998). Sweet Dreams: Philosophical Obstacles to a Science of Consciousness, was published in 2005 by MIT Press. He co-edited The Mind’s I with Douglas Hofstadter in 1981. He is the author of over three hundred scholarly articles on various aspects on the mind, published in journals ranging from Artificial Intelligence and Behavioral and Brain Sciences to Poetics Today and the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism.
He gave the John Locke Lectures at Oxford in 1983, the Gavin David Young Lectures at Adelaide, Australia, in 1985, and the Tanner Lecture at Michigan in 1986, among many others. He has received two Guggenheim Fellowships, a Fulbright Fellowship, and a Fellowship at the Center for Advanced Studies in Behavioral Science. He was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1987.
He was the Co-founder (in 1985) and Co-director of the Curricular Software Studio at Tufts, and has helped to design museum exhibits on computers for the Smithsonian Institution, the Museum of Science in Boston, and the Computer Museum in Boston.

Sabbath-breaking Punished:

IN CONCLUSION, IN MY JOURNEY LOOKING FOR A DIVINE ENTITY, I ONLY FOUND WARS, HUMAN LIES DESIGNED, FABRICATED AND EXTRAPOLATED TO MANIPULATE HUMAN PUPPETS. HUMAN TROGLODYTES CONTROLLING THEIR ENVIRONMENT TO IMPOSE THEIR AUTHORITY AND GOD'S AUTHORITY TO CONTROL OTHERS. YES, AN EYE FOR AN EYE, VINDICTIVE AND ILLUSIVE YAHWEH. NIETZSCHE FINALLY KILLED GOD IN HIS BOOK. "GOD IS DEAD," AND THEN ADOLF HITLER CAME A FEW YEARS LATER TO TRY TO EXTINGUISH THE JEWISH RACE AND OTHER INFERIOR HUMANS IN THE NAME OF HIS NAZI BIOLOGICAL CLEANSING THEORY. SO, MY FINAL QUESTION IS. Atheists think Christians don't understand the basic premise of evolution – because they have asked: "If evolution is true, why are apes still here?"
Okay … first of all – not every Christian thinks the Theory of Evolution postulated humans evolved from apes.
They are well aware the theory has predicted … the (supposed) transition occurred a long time ago – from a common ancestor
Furthermore … there are many Christians who have recognised the Theory of Evolution does not negate scripture – because the scripture does actually say:
These are the generations of the creation – which means a day is most likely a phase.
Here's the thing …
Delusion is when a person believes in information that does not exist – and the Theory of Evolution is a classic for causing delusion.
You see … mutation is direct evidence for adaptation and (only) indirect evidence for transition.
Direct evidence is not subject to interpretation whereas indirect evidence is subject to interpretation.
Thus … when someone asserts evolution is proven – they are, in fact, demonstrating a belief in information that does not exist.
In other words … they are asserting their faith in naturalism is established in fact.
This is to say … those who assert evolution is proven true (demonstrable fact) – are spreading delusion like a disease.

A true-Christian, on the other hand, is a person who acknowledges they do not know for sure if there is an intelligent designer or not – which means they do not assert their faith as fact.
This is because they are aware the knowledge is yet to be verified – which means they are not delusional.
Checking The Position
Some atheists assert: science doesn't try to prove anything – despite the fact scientific enquiry is the pursuit of sanction: and the scientific method establishes demonstrable facts to prove theories.
They claim evolution is a demonstrable fact and not 'proven' – to avoid the reality the theory is without scientific sanction.
Indeed … it would appear they have lost the power of reasoning – because they refuse to differentiate between indirect evidence and direct evidence.
This cognitive dissonance – arguing over the semantic meaning of phrases – merely highlights their state of delusion.
Direct evidence for adaptation (change in genetic information – resulting in new information) is only indirect evidence for transition (increase in genetic information).
You see … evolutionary processes may (well) be true – but this may be by:
1) natural selection – or …
2) supernatural selection
Every experiment that fails to deliver scientific sanction for evolution confirms the scripture that says a creator is at rest.

to me, the young earth creationists in the Christian world who reject mainstream science are to be compared to their equivalent in the "skeptic" community… those fundy atheists who reject history and assert conspiracy theories, the kind debunked on sites like http://historyforatheists.com these are the "freethinkers" who spread memes on social media claiming stuff like that the Catholic Church mass slaughtered cats & women and created the black plague, or outlawed paganism and religious freedom at the Council of Nicea, or deliberately destroyed the great Library of Alexandria and made Hypatia a martyr for science, conspiracy theories saying the bible and/or Jesus were hoaxes invented by the elites for profit and social control, the "Conflict Thesis" and that sort of nonsense. these are the guys who want you to believe most every church-goer is a holier-than-thou hypocrite praying daily for the president to "push the button" so they can all be raptured away from the rest of us hell-bound heathens. whatever happened to charity and common sense? the internet, which has always facilitated the spread of misinformation, trolling and the maintenance of ideological echo chambers that's what. on the good side, it also contains within it its own remedy, so long as freedom of expression remains.

Poor Darwin! In his Victorian era scientific age of: cells are "blobs of jelly" and no, as in zero understanding of genetics, he could theorize for himself that if finches could change the size and shape of their beak, why that must mean the fishes could change into marsupials! Lol Poor silly man! Really needed to get out, get some fresh air, and speak to some animal breeders who would of clued him in to reality! And what's worse? People today actually think he was great!?! so to sum up… in the 19th century, certain mostly conservative protestants, were getting upset and scared that atheists were taking over academia, the sciences, etc. and introducing "dangerous" ideas that were challenging the seemingly unshakable belief in the inspiration of the bible, miracles, the providence of God, etc. so some of them started the fundamentalist movement. over time this lead to things like the young earth creationists and other conspiracy theorist cultures that brought mockery and scorn to themselves and gave ammunition to atheists hoping to attack religion as a whole. it also created numerous atheists, who were raised to believe these things were so, then quickly saw they were not and decided the atheists who mocked them were right. obviously they never intended this to happen but it did. they turned Christianity from a reasonable, historically based philosophy into fideism. thankfully most of the Christian world never followed them. but if you grew up in certain communities you might never know this history… and think every practicing Christian is a bible thumping fundamentalist or else some kind of "wishy washy liberal."
I laugh heartily at the irony of certain fundy atheists who berate "Christians" for rejecting mainstream science (the small minority who are young earth creationists), but meanwhile reject mainstream HISTORY (ie: by support "Jesus Mythicism" conspiracy theories). then again should I be surprised when the folks who call out others for being in a cult, seem to act quite cultish themselves? I'm fine with mainstream science AND mainstream history. I don't see a conflict between true faith and reason. what's their excuse?
