I don't understand how Mr. Adami can argue in good faith both for that representations, understood as internal models of the world, exist, and that we fundamentally are unable to understand them. He was so close when looking at that artificial agent's neural network, too! There's a story to be told about why this pattern of connectivity (and not some other, random one) allows the agent to dodge large bars and collect small ones, but it is not a representational one…
