The oval shell gives the robot a statistically higher chance to pass through, effectively giving it the "sight" to centre into the space between the obstacles. An elegant solution.

Meh. Cockroach is smarter. The shape helps but it is still just brute force, for the robot.
This is amazing, great work guys! The fact that cockroaches can turn sideways has fascinated me FOR YEARS.

That was designed but by who? We just copied it but did the original just sus this design out by evolving from a square? What could've coused that DNA to mutate? The need to feed and reproduce coused that? Really?
And now they'll make ones that explode. Tiny flying ones, too. Boom, take ya right out!
