Jason Brubaker has put out a pretty cool self-teaching method called Cognitive Drawing. I’ve been using it myself, and I recommend trying it. Let me know if you think it’s effective. Check it out here:

Great stuff, I'm all about it — https://gumroad.com/jasonbrubaker and https://www.youtube.com/user/BrubakerMotion
I know that I'm a fan of yours, and this will sound strange, but you should start a new channel, the algorithms of YouTube clearly do not notice you. I have watched all your videos, and the potential of the content is comparable to an iceberg, 20% of which we see on the surface and 80% of which is hidden from us. I want you to know that you are universally underestimated! I hope you will read this message and if you do not start a new channel, you will know that the great work that you have put into your videos has not gone unnoticed!!!

I love your humor XD
This is an awesome concept.
Thanks for the tip ! I don’t usually draw but the pdf looks like a fun way to star with some guidance so I downloaded it immediately
thank you STIMULUS for sharing this insight about drawing practise… your explanation about this cognitive process in steps is simple, natural and clear..
Okay, serious question –
This Cognitive Drawing apparently isn't making things work for me. Am I just mentally retarded or am I just observantly stupid?
Hi Stimulus, thanks for the video. I just tried this exercise and it really did work pretty well. It's interesting how colleges do not teach this at all. I have a degree but I consider myself crippled without direct reference. I've always been in awe of Kim Jung Gi's visual library and want to improve my own as fast as I can. Have you seen any more improvement from these techniques since you made this video? I want to be able to apply memory drawing to everything I draw, which at the moment is around 8-10 hours of practice a day (I'm in the lucky position to have that time available for a few months). I wonder how much information can theoretically be retained if you're trying to memorize several images or more per day.
I love your stuff. Great advice
yup, cool
That's like putting a complex puzzle together in your mind, cool technique – definitely must try that one out!
My favorite part is it turns from making THAT image, to knowing what you need to do to make those shapes. It really does evolve your ability to draw.
Figure out what's going on there…
you got new sub fasho man loving the vids
I LOVE JASON BRUBAKER!! He drew me on one of his sticky notes for his inktober challenge last year. I freaked out yo. I've been a huge fan of his since reMIND and bought his cognitive drawing as soon as I could. Great guy, amazing art. So cool that you like him too!
making great vids as always man
Too bad you don't have his face permanently stuck to your face.
Cool concept
