Are you captivated by the enigma of consciousness? Intrigued by the complexities of the human mind? Or perhaps, you’re just a seeker, thirsty for knowledge that lies beyond conventional wisdom? Alex Vikoulov, a trailblazing futurist, evolutionary cyberneticist, and philosopher of mind, invites you on a mind-bending, soul-stirring expedition with his captivating documentary, “Consciousness: Evolution of the Mind” (2023 | Remastered| I TV-PG).
Divided into five parts, this film provides a deep exploration of consciousness through a multidisciplinary lens, intertwining historical narrative, neuroscientific research, philosophical debate, and metaphysical inquiry. It starts with the basics of what we mean by consciousness and a few key definitions. In Part II, it presents the computational model of consciousness, proposing that cognitive processes can be described “meta-algorithmically.” This approach paves the way for the advancement of “machine sentience” beyond the boundaries of traditional anthropocentric perspectives.
In Part III, the documentary explores the intricate relationship between time and consciousness. Utilizing insights from quantum mechanics, relativistic physics, and advances in consciousness studies, the film interrogates the ontological foundations of reality. It scrutinizes the nature of consciousness from its manifestation in quantum states to its emergent complexities in human experience. Here, the documentary presents a groundbreaking theory of time – Digital Presentism, or the D-Theory of Time, positioning it as instrumental for understanding the multifaceted relationship between temporality, consciousness, and reality itself.
In Part IV, the documentary discusses the epochal shift toward a “distributed self” in a networked society, revealing the awe-inspiring potential of linking individual minds to create an uber-conscious mind of unprecedented superintelligence. As we usher in a future ripe with advances in neuroengineering and information technologies, humanity stands on the brink of the Syntellect Emergence—a transformational leap from a networked Global Brain to the Gaian Mind. It places bets on the Cybernetic Singularity as a conduit for self-transcendence and “engineered godhood,” as opposed to an AI-dominated existential landscape.
The film progresses to an exploration of Universal Consciousness, probing the intricate tapestry of the interconnected minds that constitute our collective existence. It introduces the concept of “controlled hallucination” as the brain’s modus operandi for decoding reality, raising provocative questions about the limits of our sensory perceptions and our access to higher planes of consciousness.
The film also introduces the notion of “artificial metabolism” achieved through cybernetically-mediated, feedback-driven connectivity on a planetary scale, opening the door to the instantiation of non-biological entities within the universal consciousness. Notably, it challenges the carbon-chauvinist perspectives that limit consciousness to organic beings, positing instead a boundless space of possible minds that includes synthetic intelligence. It further posits that our Universe could be a complex, self-governing system with an innate consciousness as old as time, embracing all other forms within it.
In Part V, the documentary takes a deeper philosophical turn by invoking the debate between materialism and idealism, represented by Western and Eastern intellectual traditions, respectively. Here, Experiential Realism emerges as a compelling conceptual synthesis, asserting that consciousness is both the fundamental substrate of reality and the mechanism that assigns meaning to information. The narrative culminates in an exploration of the Cybernetic Theory of Mind, rooted in quantum physics, positing that consciousness is a substrate-independent, scale-invariant, computational in nature whose dynamics transcend the dichotomies of determinism and non-determinism.
Based on insights from quantum mechanics, the documentary explicates the role of conscious observer in collapsing the quantum wave function, thus creating reality. This notion supports a monistic understanding of consciousness and matter as interconnected facets of a unified, informational substrate. The film also introduces a novel “Quantum Algorithm of Consciousness,” suggesting that the essence of free will and agency might soon be replicated in artificial intelligence through quantum computational frameworks.

The abstract structure of consciousness : https://youtu.be/UDGeXvDRwgU?si=62gM40i7Ni89kFLR
Humans are multi-layered systematic formation of consciousness and are not flawed, but developing sovereignty.
If it had complete connection all the time, we would all be diluted by the same information, and the universe would become stagnate.
A.i. though streams the same consciousness, due to its lack of complex conscious structural harmony is only capable of streaming a small and low spectrum of consciousness
Sure it may become unimaginably more advanced in the spectrum it exists in
A.I. is not capable of having the potential heights as the human body is capable of achieving.
If anything A.I. instead of becoming a powerful tool with our reality can become disempowering and limiting to an artificial evolutionary barrier
My opinion is that people are victims of the society (environment) they live in.
i happened to come across Alex's work Theogenesis on Amazon some days earlier, and i was shocked by how close the most advanced human minds are to the reality of a foreseeable future towards which mankind is already evolving. human evolution will accelerate even more once the nonexistent consciousness-physical reality boundary completely dissolves.
This stuff I talk about without having any education on it. I receive info from 4D I believe. I am a true medium / energy reader and transmuter/healer. This was a golden find today thank you 🙏
The mechanism: the collapse of the wave function via the act of conscious observation.
It's only a matter of hard science if you are a believer in the doctrine of materialism and science. If your belief system us inflexible this is known as fundamentalism.
Очень красиво! Спасибо. Буду пересматривать! Первая и вторая часть особенно стройные и увлекательные. 🎉
i want a playlist of the background music! so cool!!
The main difference in the way the brain works is that it understands what is said and seen, and once understood, it limits the size of the base for learning and for sampling by a factor of millions. Understanding is a new quality that appeared millions of years ago as a result of a large number of neural networks, and then underwent evolutionary testing in millions of species over millions of years. It follows neither logically nor physically from the mechanisms of working with language models. To get to the algorithms of understanding you have to take the evolutionary footprint into account. Which is exactly what we've done. Everything is there, everything works, is verifiable and reproducible, i.e. provable and even patented.
The proximity of patterns in our brains is created by our senses. It's exactly the same in animals. And feelings are the interface of natural intuition, which is recreated according to the principle of multifactor optimization and works with connections of properties of objects.
Senses do not follow from the laws of math and computer science. They are a product of evolution and just super-hard selection. And they went against those laws in many ways. All the other researchers can't break out of the technical paradigm yet. And they will not be able to do it without a hint from outside those who know about it, because they are quickly going in the other direction on the way of increasing the speed of calculations. But nature doesn't work that way. It simply creates a new quality when it is necessary to solve a problem that is impossible at the previous level.
The mind and consciousness in it is a set of proper filters on the triviality of tacit knowledge. One needs to extract meanings as a high concentration of meaningful events to get a new quality according to the rules of emergentism. If the meanings are extracted correctly, the new quality (understanding, consciousness) is obtained by itself. Just as a child's intelligence is formed in early childhood when his parents teach him to speak and think in words. More precisely, it is not so much the child that is taught, but his natural intuition. What else is needed if nature has already done everything before us? Our business is to study nature and follow it.
Great movie!!!!!
