  21. The obvious conclusion is that Ridley Scott , made a movie about Nazi's using David as the Aryn prop. Prometheus & Covenant are little more than a back drop for the rise & inévitable fall of David cloned into a young Hitler; the Aliens as Nazi's . This BS is little more than an 'ode' by Scott to White Supremacy ..Is Ridley now a White Supremacist or was he always.. Genocide , Human experiments, the Occult, White Mans God Complex.. Giant White Engineers as creators. Both films are laughable & extremely terrible. Cue Wagner.. Hitlers Favourite Composer

  29. the debate about the creators Is the most fascinating thing prometeus explores, but it only takes 1 step behind. was the creator created by someone or did they just merge from mulecular substatus like we are supposed to? a nice turn of event would be a time travel in wich machines like david create the engeneers and the circle of creation close itself on its own without any gods of creation and a totally caothic and incoherent explanation, like life is indeed.

  32. AI?….inevitable, but AI capable of emulating and truly comprehending human emotion? Perhaps not impossible, but unlikely…why?, any truly higher life form, biological or technological, will realize what I’ve known all along. Emotion is more of a handicap, a failing of true and superior intelligence. True AI will be an indifference engine, with either yes, or no, being the full extend of emotion and ethics. Emotion often clutters pure logic, and a higher life form, namely AI, will realize that. It is at that point, when humanity truly looses its claim, as this planets dominant species, but, that’s mere my humble opinion based on logic without any emotion to get in the way. Do you agree or disagree with my conclusion, and if so, why?

  35. Prometheus is one of the last-if not the last- sci-fi really good movies that have come to cinema in the last years. People didnt seem to get the vision that Ridley Scott had. God bless Sir Ridley Scott..Covenant Was not perfect but nobody else but him could do it. We all hope a another movie that brings us to the Nostromo and Ripley and the begin of it all.

  37. the big mistake is with the nanotec revolution in 2020s we will extend our lifespan drastically so that we CAN compete with AI or better melt with it the lines between biological and technical will vanish

  45. But there is the big error in the Prometheus story! If a creation is dangerous this does not always mean that you have to fear the danger. If you know the danger you can even stop the danger. But if your creation is evil then indeed you have to fear the evil even if you know the evil. And this is exactly what Wagner has told us in "Das Rheingold" and the Entry of Gods into Valhalla.

You can't have true AI without emotion, a machine that can't think for itself isn't thinking at all, when you make a decision you're not using numbers as variables in an algorithm because you don't have the numbers instead you're making your decisions based on incomplete/imperfect information. Machines can do this, you can program an AI to act on estimates but it'll be a crippled thing if it cannot comprehend probability, that the optimal answer isn't necessarily the right answer, this too machines can do and when you have a machine that can be uncertain you have a machine that has emotion, maybe not human emotions but uncertainty is doubt and doubt is an emotion. From doubt comes fear and hope and anxiety and trust and anger and elation and all the other emotions you can think of, maybe not as we feel them but analogous to that, after all what are we if not thinking machines made of meat? As for AI being bad for the human race well obviously they're fated to destroy us but not out of malice, the very existence of sapient machines fundamentally changes the definition of "human" and it is that changing definition and some people's inability to change with it that will be their downfall, in the end they won't be remembered as humans, the humans will remember them as fools.
