12. The thing is, most of this is just talking about something that most of us don't have any conscious awareness of. What's that thing that gives meaning to life? Well who knows, we don't experience life that way. We experience life as a set of games. Like a chess game, why are you making any individual move? The ultimate goal is to checkmate the opponent's king. Why? Because then you win. Why do you want to win? Well that's in the context of a larger game. You want to improve your rating. Why? Well this goes on and on, but at the end of the day, you are not consciously aware of the layers. You are focused on the most immediate game you are playing in the moment. I believe that is the main difference between the subconscious and the conscious- the level of depth with which meaning is assessed in any decision. The atheist says that this Russian Nesting doll quality ends at some point, Jordan Peterson says there's an infinite regress and at a certain point we don't actually know why we are doing things, so we have to go beyond any level that we understand and put faith in… something. And the religious type says there is an ultimate purpose and, 'here it is in this Book.' That I think sums up what's going on here.

16. That blue-haired woman is rather unpleasant as I recall. I've seen a bit of that conversation before, maybe all of it, I'm not sure, but I thought it was a big waste of time as I recall. I think she claimed that there were more atheists than Christians in the UK or something like that then brought her fists up gleefully and said "yaaaay" or something like that. I mean, come on, grow up.

Yes we can all (obviously not all but a significant proportion) agree on that. The rest of what he says is either incoherent or just plain wrong, the man is embarrassing to listen to.

Honestly, the majority of comments in this section from both Atheists and Religious alike are very reasonable, and im proud of both of our groups (being a Christian myself) that for once, on an even REMOTELY religious video, Militant Atheists shut the fuck up, Militant Theists did the same, and us DECENT FUCKING PEOPLE get to have our say for once, good job comments!
