44. My mother died when I was seven. My grandmother took her place, and the place of my absent father. She was my mom, my dad, my best friend, my teacher, my hero, my lighthouse, my "everything". She was the strongest person I've ever known, all she carried. All my life I feared the day I would lose her, but knew it would come.
    …and it did.
    I was blessed to have her until she was 97, but my tears still fell. As we sat in the hospital, watching the life drain out of her once and for all, this song came out, and my cousin played it…over and over. It was so intense, I haven't been able to play it since. My favorite band, but this one song I could not endure.
    It's been about three years now.
    I mustered the strength to listen to this for the first time since that night in the hospital…
    I wish I could articulate these tears streaming down my face, and what they mean… but all I can do is give thanks for this beautiful, beautiful piece of art. Although it's a cover, you have given it a life of its own…and a few extra beats in my heart. I thank you for this, and now I can finally endure this tremendous sensation of love ♡
