The Artful Parent
This tutorial shows you how to make your own DIY Scratch Art with just paper, crayons, and paint. This is the easiest way for kids to make your own scratch art paper! And to make it even quicker and easier, you can use oil pastels instead of crayons.
Here are the materials you’ll need:
Sturdy paper
Crayons or oil pastels
Black paint (such as tempera paint)
Paint brush
Toothpicks and/or Q-tips
Basically, you’ll cover a piece of paper with color from the crayon or oil pastel. Then paint over it with the black paint. And finally, while your paint is still wet (this makes it extra easy and quick, too!), draw a picture or design through the black paint with a toothpick or cotton swab.
