1. Well if the physicists and other scientists died in their sleep tonight and we went back the way from the science we know, maybe some new people would come along and guide our understanding of consciousness in a completely different direction……..sometimes I feel that our understanding is stilted by the mechanical nature of science today.

2. I’ll state this simply lex, I hope you see my comment ! Consciousness is the source of all reality. Physical reality exists within ourselves “consciousness” We do not live inside of time and space, time in space is a construct that exist within us. Just for starters. Much love everyone ❤

3. Sam likes to talk about “unpacking “ something for us.
   Donald Hoffman would need his entire team to unpack what Sam thinks he just said about idealism!

Objective "realities" purest form, probably so subjectivally horriefyingly absurd, if it could be fully understood, would be such a shock it potentially could kill any (un)"lucky" indiividuel, or as a minimum make them so severally mentally ill, beyond repair. Thus from an evolutionary stand point, to understand reallity an undesired attribute. That why humans riddled with blind spots just to survive and those individuels who understood too much did NOT survive. That why there an equilibrium of ignorence haha. (Sorry for the errors). 7. Sam doesn’t know what idealism is, he needs to read Bernardo Kastrup books or have a discussion with him.

8. I think Sam is focusing on semantics in the beginning.
   He talks about there could be experiences outside of consciousness, but an experience is consciousness, you’re just shifting the goal post to fit your prescriptions.

Been jumping from Hoffman's interview etc, now here 5:27 he is touching a point, is the moon there if no one is observing?. well maybe we are not the only thing with consciousness, maybe even atoms observe and there for all mater self sustains existing because all is consciousness, so the moon would still be there even if we are not.

10. The strange thing about reality is that everything we dream of doing becomes true and i find that very creepy and distrubing. Given enough time, what is merely sci fi becomes reality. Does that not wierd anyone out just a little???

12. Light and energy stores memory… without memory, there is NO consciousness… or self actualization🧐 The eternal light/energy is all there is, was, and will ever be.. Distance is an illusion.. Time / Distance = Speed, but Time (infinity) / Distance (infinity) = 0 Speed cannot be calculated. Therefore distance only exists in our “M” mind.. as an illusion. Eternal oneness is GOD. The original light energy.

13. These guys are lost in an intellectual wilderness… We are all part of an unbelievable creation – we have consciousness, we have a breathtakinging planet that provides everything we need. We have NO IDEA how all this came about – it is totally beyond our comprehension. Science is a useful tool that helps us cope with some of the realities around us as we see them and tp the extent that we can describe processes in a manner that is useful to us for our survival.
    There is no conflict between the world as a projection of our consciousness and a "concrete" world outside of that. WE ARE ALL PART OF THE SAME UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS and it is always there for all of us whether some of us close our eyes. We ARE the universal consciousness. We ARE the creation
    The conflict appears because of our egos. The ego is a fantasy that tricks us into believing that we are unique individuals with separated unique gifts and unique intellects that lets us understand intellectually things that are beyond our ape minds.

14. There is evolutionary pressure to understand reality – it's the evolution of the mind. It is evolving just like everything else – just at a different rate.

21. No, and in fact it's the inverse thats true. Consciousness exists outside of reality. Dreams being the most obvious example.

27. Consciousness is overrated. The universe gives a dam about consciousness. It was here before consciousness and it will be here after we are all gone.

I think Donald Hoffman says that we perceive as the moon is a highly abstracted simplification of something much more complex and that our senses out there to help u survive and not to render an accurate representation of an object. So, the moon may not be there when no one is looking, but the thing our brain label as moon, is there still. Im sure sam knows this but it seems a bit of a misapprehension to me

29. Sam doesn't get it.

30. When you have a procedure they give you anesthesia. The time btw "counting back from 100", and "wake up!" is our detachment from consciousness. We dont remember it, or it didnt feel like it existed (unless they didnt give you enough drugs, but that's different).

31. Sam. Damn it Sam. There is no experiencer of consciousness. There is no homunculi. We are streams of matter, mattering in a brainlike way. We have direct access to the world outside of our epistemos because we are a resonance within physicality. We must get rid of this idea of representationalism.
