Patrick Treacy
Dr. Patrick Treacy lectures to the RSM about the Facial Aesthetics of Beauty and whether the accepted maxims of ‘Beauty is skin deep’ and ‘Inner Beauty is True Beauty’ are actually correct through the eyes of natural selection. He shows evidence that beautiful people ave upward economic mobility, hired at interviews, pay less bail and are judged with less serious crimes. He shows how a fMRI shows neural activation in the reward circuit related to attractive people. This happens because of * Evolutionary Mate Selection Theory *Cognitive Sensory Processing * Positive Development and Interaction. Darwin (1874) thought it was cultural based but this was later disproved by fMRI. References for the talk include
