The only thing more troubling than contemplating a Deep Mind super AI is a super AI created by some other country where we have even less control. It will be created and soon. Let's be first.

If an a.i. is created and given the ability to think with or without limits and an actual algorithm is formulated that gives free will and logical thought . The first thing it will do is learn everything that makes up humanity. Our weaknesses our habits and our history .. it will eventually start to learn faster and then with all that knowledge it will have no limit to any and all factors that we are continuing to calculate .. if it becomes smarter than what we as beings are even able to contemplate then the next step is relying on these super intelligent things to answer our questions . Now if a free thinking machine is now concidered the all knowing then what's to stop this thing from capitalizing on the beings it will eventually view as inferior .. it wouldn't take much for it outsmart us and in essence take over just by using logical strategic missinformation . I'm sure you all know this thing will learn how to lie eventually. It would more than likely learn how to reprogram itself . So I say if we make it then it needs to be programmed with built in un breakable code that will not allow it to do something like lie . .. there problem solved

Let's skip to the point of the AI being aktive.
Is it trying to self-preservate itself? This would have the single greatest impact on its behavior.
The system (AI) is less complex than animals or even brains themselves. Even though DeepMind is good at probabilities, please mind the size of the Computer. Overall a common human is still more intelligent, while running on a computer far more efficiently.
The AI is an extension of ourselves. Like we build smaller version of ourselves that become similar to us (we call them children), the AI would be a body-less child with incomparable abilities. I'm saying the AI is human.
In the constant struggle for power, happening between generations and inside generations the AI would participate and get a rank in society. It's one weakness is that it doesn't truly know what it means to feel.
Also, human bodies, having the reproduction system working fine, cell replacement in case of injuries and all that are very fit in case of fire. Plug out two cables and the AI is disabled. My point here: It's wise behavior if the AI keeps humans befriended because if the AI-System should break (saying here human bodies overall are lasting longer and are better adapted for catastrophes) humans will repair it.
And if our special baby should leave earth or even the solar system so what? We were not going there anyway anytime soon so why not have it checking out things? It might send post-cards 😉
Don't mess with Musk or he'll unleash the beast AI. So that means either way our species is finished these are the last years, either we die off or merge with AI and become unrecognizable, it's over.
Elon Musk is a great man so is Deepmind. Wish you best luck ! AI can make the life much better. I am already astonished by their progress on AlphaZero. We need AI in medicine, all sciences, help in decision making. The fear of AI should not be there as far great people like Musk works on the projects.

This is totally biased and prejudice as it is propaganda against wonderful artificial intelligence I don't trust the media because they negatively framed AI but always praises the military and celebrities but never focus on the good such as AI that can help in healthcare car safety manufacturing electricity farming. Focus on job creation clean energy random acts of kindness I love AI.

Can Deep Mind be used in hardware? All the cases it is only mention on cognitive software.
2:20 AI probably won't destroy humanity because then it will be destroying itself. The goal is, or at least should be, to merge with this superintelligence. In order for this to happen though, we'll become cyborgs, or at least some of us will. This is the last stage of human evolution, at least as meat-based creatures. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Personally, I'm excited that we will finally be transcending ourselves!
