Everything Wrong With The Da Vinci Code In 15 MInutes Or Less

CinemaSins

Tom Hanks’ new film Inferno is tearing up the international box office. Why? Because apparently someone somewhere likes these movies. Regardless… we decided to commemorate the 3rd film in the franchise by looking for sins in the original, The Da Vinci Code. Oooh, mama.

Thursday: Sins kind of similar to this video, actually.

Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie’s sins should we expose next?!

  1. Sin 118, at 10:30 re: saying the grail was a person, then the map, free will, etc…’

My guess is that, if there IS a God then, everything’s already ‘written’, it’s all ‘fated’, ‘free will’ doesn’t exist, meaning that nothing really fucking matters but … it means the map narrative holds up!

  2. "Crossword(?) with the theme of religion" was my first thought
Solving the code cryptex by putting in any five letter word that relates to religion in someway.
    That would have worked eventually…..

    Why didn't anyone try that?
    LOL

  3. I personally liked the movie, but honestly found the books to be far better. They do an amazing job of explaining everything and piecing all the tiny details together
0:21 it’s been a while since I read the books but I believe that in the books Landon’s degree was in art history, which is a good basis for symbology, and art history is a very real course considering there were advertisements for that ap class all over my school
Also at 2:05 I’m pretty sure it says in the book that he’s afraid of enclosed spaces, not specifically elevators since he almost drowned in a well as a child

  4. I remember watching the trailer before it was out to rent and pointing to Ian McKellan and saying, “Oh he’s the bad guy.” My mother looked at me having read the book and asked me how I knew without a doubt. “Well Tom Hanks is the good guy, he throws something in the air that Gandalf didn’t want thrown in the air and goes running to catch. He’s the bad guy.” Didn’t even have to watch the movie.

  5. 06:57 Actually, 1976 isn't the year of portuguese independence. That would be 1640. However, in 1974, not 1976, we deposed an authoritarian regime in favor of democracy. We associate that with liberty, not independence.

    Great video anyway, as always!

  6. The movie was great as well as the book, and the Catholic church hated it so much as many of the truths are there – especially that Jesus was a man, a prophet, but never divine – that was made up by the church that followed to control their membership. In fact the Vatican has documents that no one outside that group has seen, and other documents have been destroyed that would have negated the church preachings and divinity.

  7. Shouldn't there be a video debunking your assumptions? I tell you for sure, this is a movie, it should motivate you to find out the real truth for yourself
