Feeling Worried? – Try Mindfulness!

Feeling worried? Let’s see if we can get you back to the Green Zone with these 2 mindful strategies:

1) Deep breathing – smell the flower, blow the pedals. The goal is to breathe in all the air you can fit in your belly, then blow it all out as slowly as you possibly can. Practice makes perfect!
2) Mindful listening – In this video, I use a chime to mindfully listen, but you can close your eyes & pick ANY sound to focus on (chirping birds outside, rain drops against the roof, wind outside, the air conditioner or heater turning on in your house…it can be anything!) The important part is that you focus.

Using our senses (like in my Top Secret Calm Down Mission video – go watch!) helps to ground ourselves and focus only on the present moment. When you are focused on what you can hear, smell, taste, touch, or see, you are focusing on what is happening NOW, instead of worrying about the future or whatever has happened in the past. This is called mindfulness. It helps us get back to the Green Zone. 🙂
