Heather Berlin, PhD, MPH
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
Dr. Heather Berlin is a cognitive neuroscientist and assistant professor of psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where she also completed her NIMH post-doctoral fellowship. She practices clinical neuropsychology at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Department of Neurological Surgery and is a visiting scholar at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Dr. Berlin conducts research to better understand the neural basis of impulsivity, compulsivity, and emotion with the goal of more targeted treatment. She employs neuroimaging, neuropsychological and psychopharmacological testing of psychiatric and brain lesion patients. She is also interested in the neural basis of consciousness, dynamic unconscious processes, and creativity.
