  1. So you've been drawing fairies, unicorns and sparkles and one day you suddenly decided to draw a cute fury animal eating a hand of a dead man? Love you! 😀

  2. Aww sweet, any Artist who can't admit to their childhood art is a fool. There is no really bad artists ( well.. With I or 2 exceptions lol) The main one is, it gives us a window into the stages our learning took to take us to where we are today. We all start out with hands that have to mature. Our muscles and tendons have to grow before we are physically able to produce the art we produce when we are adults. Our brain to hand coordination has to come on line.
We have to gain the knowledge that allows us to put the correct light and shaded areas, colour theory, perspective and spatial awareness that comes with maturity and practice.
I love looking a children's art, looking at the influences and experiences that life throws at us as we grow into our artist style. Thanks Mary, your youngself has given hope to those who are only part way there. One good thing about being an artist, is you never fully loose the child within.. Lol

  3. Very amusing! Sounds like a couple of pieces that I have had people do the omg that is really good and I can't help but be like "how do you not see I have completely ruined this piece! OMG no, do not compliment me! UGH, and you are still complimenting me." But, eh, I tried was the thing and people were trying to not let me give up on art. I kept comparing my art to my oldest sister, at the time she was far superior in everything I tried to draw and she did, now I have a few things I draw better according to her (humans, I draw humans better, she still beats me on dragons though!). What my sis and I competed, well more I competed with her, got smacked every time I said my stuff sucked and that hers was better too. I learned quickly to keep my insults of my art to myself with my sister around lol. If not, a smack, punch or Gib slap was coming my way for insulting it. So yea, we all have to start somewhere, we art born art gods! lol Thinks of how she envies many people's art lately and smiles. I can do that too. Ok Mary, you and Danica Sills have me on a 'I want to learn to create with ink washing' now kick, you have created a monster! lol jk, but all seriousness, when I have spare money buying ink and having fun trying to learn lol.
