1. Why is it that people don't understand that if you upload a copy of your mind to an android body or other machine… all you get is a copy of yourself? Sort of like being born one of identical twins or triplets?

   It's not you. It's just a copy. If you die, you're just dead, even though the copy is still there.

   Now, if a way is found to replace nerves and synapses one at a time with synthetic/electronic replacements, and those allowed time to be incorporated into your brain, and your brain allowed to process those in and use them, then all of those replacements removed as a unit and put into something else – ie. a mechanical body or a computer system – THEN you could possibly live past your body dying.

   That is the only way I can see that the actual "you" could continue on in a different body and without an organic brain.

   Simply scanning your mind and creating a copy just won't do it.

2. Human immortality… Are all transhumanists complete idiots? Mind upload is just copy, there is no soul. You will get only dead soulless copy of human. It is useless. It can only populate world with copies of actual humans. So what is the point? Souls will move on upon leaving the biological body. You are not your mind, you are not your brain. Soul just use it within physical reality. And spoiler alert, you are already immortal Soul. Why fear death so much? 🤷‍♀️😂

3. All I need is my knowledge & personality uploaded/copied. As for the rest of my body.. Why bother copying it? I would rather have something more useful.. Silicon over robotics. Maybe wings.. Something that doesn't need food as we know it. Course a person who is a gourmet chef may disagree as his desire is different.

13. i think we should stop asking questions about the human brain and work on studying smaller brains. as i told someone once before. the human brain is like the size of the entire universe. while the open worm brain is like a planet and a roach is like a galaxy. we should work on studying smaller brains first because pretty much every single question you asked so far can be answered far sooner then we could even start to think about a human brain. in the end it is never easy to turn a biological machine into a non biological machine. biological machines are insanely more complex then non biological machines. and just because you upoad a brain, doesnt make it immortal. only the image of the brain is immortal. the biological brain it is copied from still dies. the digital one is subject to data errors, hardware failure and the whims of the people who posses it. if i had to guess, id figure that a digital human would be insanely sad. it couldnt eat, have sex, walk around or do anything other humans do and we havnt even started talking about ethics yet. its 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x easier to just make an AI that is smarter then we are rather then make us inside a computer. after all, why copy imperfection when you have the tools to make something better. there is alot inside a human brain that isnt needed once the body is gone. i wouldnt be shocked if you ended up being able to strip 90% or more of the brain away. i think most of the brain is present only to handle bodily interfaces. and there is probably a huge amount of inefficiencies present inside the brain its self. since its a product of evolution and not design, it wouldnt shock me if you could make a "designed" brain that is less then half the size of ours that is 10x smarter/more powerful. evolution never created the "best possible" product. it only creates products that pass according to the pressures in the environment. that means nature makes whatever works. it doesnt care if it can be done with 10x less resources so long as it is able to survive, eat and reproduce. if we work on understanding more basic brains, we may well be able to design a much better brain.

30. I want nothing to do with a device designed to upload my brain. What I want is a device that functions the same as my biological brain. A device that can take in all new experiences so that, in time all of what makes me me is there. I would think most brain functions are separate from what makes me who I am. The senses for example need not be a concern. Then again, what do I know.
