How was PFNet's interview?
Insightful !
I have heard even the top research papers are graded more by "benchmark best performance" than understanding of the core mechanisms that empower that performance clearly.
It seems clear to me that if you can train models that match best practice predictive power it won't matter if you don't even have a HS diploma.
This field is going to be extremely merit based for jobs. How accurate can you train a model to have predictive power? If very accurate you will be in high demand regardless of formal CV.
