Fire tornadoes occurring in nature look cool but are terrifying and very dangerous. We made one on a smaller scale – still cool, less AAAARGH.

Dan knows of two ways of building a tabletop fire tornado and he’s happy to share both. We also couldn’t pass off the chance to make a fire tornado in a variety of different colours. Because why not.

good work
I hear KSP. 🙂
Why is it important to show us how to make one rather than explain the ones we've seen related to the strange fires around the U.S.?
Next make one that's an absolute unit
Wish you had shown the actual air currents, maybe with a lit cigarette outside the glass
2 calamities for the price of one
Add fan on top and it will spin itself.
Safety First: Just watch someone else do it on YouTube.
kool
avada kedavra …
Very nice demonstration and explanation.
As I can only use the like button once – you get an extra like here. I like this kind of videos a lot.
NOT letting the kids see this one! LoL
Nice demo. You can get a similar effect with a swedish/finnish fire log.
Why not put the different coloured flames together and spin them, would have looked amazing 😀
I hope safety goggles will be issued to everyone on the next birthday party before someone brings in the cake with the candles. Isn't the safety thing going way too far?
Btw. what about putting a metal dish with burning stuff in it on a wooden plate? That's fine I guess, because we have goggles!
…so, safety goggles (which yes I do actually use whenever I unleash my desktop mill spindle at 10000RPM ) are now protection against (a puny little)… _fire_?!? Yeeeeeeeeah ooooookay… *backing away slowly*
Glass bottle bottom cutter-offer epic fail
Wears safety goggles for a flame — has massive, bushy beard exposed. Science!
What would happen if you spin the fire without the mesh?
The air is still, but the source of the flame spinning.
Shouldn't you gt the same result: Tornado?
Either you spin the air or the dish.
Why wouldn't this work?
Needs More Sharks!
Protect your lazy-susan with a damp beer mat.
Good video!!
Cracking stuff, will try this at some point. The guy looks and sounds like a southern Ricky Tomlinson though! Not a criticism, just an observation.
