What about Pragmatics? should it not be mentioned?
Do you Hindi and other Sanskrit oriented languages could have any syntax depending upon the stress: 1) Sherbet piya maine. Sherbet= object, piya -verb, maine means 'I' 2) Maine piya Sherbet. 3) Piya nahin Sherbet maine, wherein 'nahin' means 'not'.
I am sure you would love this: https://www.facebook.com/WordAssociatioss/

Perfect!
Good video. I also suggest put more elaborated and precise definitions for the terminologies. Otherwise, it is difficult to distinguish similar concepts, and may might run into troubles on multiple choice exams

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THIS REALLY SAVE TIME AND ENERGY
Can you explain how a voiced stop (b) is becomes or transforms into an unaspirated unvoiced counterpart (unaspirated p) word initially like in BAY.
I'm a bit confused here. I understand that, for example a word onset unvoiced stop p will become aspirated p like in "pat" ; also that word initial voiced stop b will become unaspirated b in "bat"…but are you saying that not only is word initial b unaspirated but now devoiced in the word "bay"?
Could you please explain…my introductory book, OSU Language Files 12th ed, does not elaborate on this.
In this other video you shows "pet" and "bet"–could the difference in "pay" and "bay" which lead to a change from b to [unaspirated p] have to deal with the presence of a high fronted vowel?

Trying to design a new fantasy race where language is very important to them, more so then the ones in Lord Of The Rings. This language will also be the basis for spell casting in my world. Thank you for uploading his video to help explain it! 🙂
Couldn’t be more incorrect about initial b’s in English.
