  1. Great pronunciation there! At first I thought you were just saying the words awkwardly (mic shyness or something, I get that), and I still wasn't sure if you were a native or not until I read your comment! Hyvää työtä. c:

  2. People say finnish is a beautiful language. But i heard that it was almost voted the most ugliest language in the world.

  3. "Kuula" is more like small round object like marbe ball, marmorikuula. Bullet is luoti/ ammus/ kuti/ pati <— all the same. And btw "yösija" 😉

  4. Wow!

As a native speaker of finnish, I find this very informational as a introduction to the mechaniscs of the finnish language for foreigners!

    Good job!! ???

  5. that wierd s and z I haven't ever seen used anywhere not sure if your video is correct on that one. ä nad ö are used on daily words like "älä" which means don't and "yö" which means night also "överit" means over usage of some sort of drugs.

  6. Nice introduction. First map is just slightly off as finnish was also spoken a bit east from original border especially in Repola, Porajärvi and Kalevala regions. Also why not point out where does that front and back vowel meanings come from? – Spoken in the front area of mouth and back area. Quite smple logic.

  7. …..IMHO: THIS NARRATOR'S COMMAND OF THE PRONUNCIATION, OF SO MANY OF THESE LANGUAGES, IN THESE VIDEOS, IS EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE, AND INSPIRING!!!!! "BRAVO!!!!!" THE HIGHEST RESPECT TO YOU, SIR!!!!

  8. Vowel harmony is funny, since 'vampire' is 'vampyyri' in Finnish and I've heard Finnish people pronouncing it almost like 'vämpyyri' 😀

  9. Hungarian is more far from Finnish, though quite cose to the Ob-Ugrics:
Finnish Khanty (Ugric) Mansi (Ugric) Hungarian
    1 yksi yit akwa egy
    2 kaksi katn/kat kityg kettő/két
    3 kolme hutl'm hurum három
    4 nelja nyal nyila négy
    5 viisi wet at öt
    6 kuusi hot hot hat
