3. I have a theory as to why Kvothe can no longer do sympathy:

   I believe that after the events of the king killer part, which we have to arrive to, Kvothe does what he tells the farmer boy he would "if he were Kvothe". He fakes his death, and CHANGES his name, but not Kvothe, but his ACTUAL NAME. Elodin looked bewildered when he misunderstood Kvothe talking about Denna's name changing and hinted at how dangerous that would be, as in messing the persons soul in essence. I believe thats what he did, and thats why he cant use sympathy anymore, because he isnt aligned, he is a mess on a essential level. But I believe he did this to save himself. Maybe after the king killer part, one of his enemies learns his NAME and to prevent them from harming him etc he went with this last resort thing, which is the only kind of plans he tends to follow through. Kvothe the more dangerous and crazy the plan the better.

   Copper does not have a name, because not all things have names that can be spoken. Kvothe can play copper, so he has a copper ring to represent his mastery over it.
   Also:
   It'd be nice if we could get a release date on book 3…

8. Also, "ravel" is a derogatory term for the Edema Ruh, which is probably also part of why Laurian is offended by the chant at 5:48.

9. Maybe I'm crazy but aren't you saying his name wrong? I thought the name was pronounced like Qwouth. Like quote with a th. Maybe I'm hearing what you say wrong but sounds like you're putting a V in there.

10. Fantastic videos! I read this series about 4-5 years ago, and there’s just so much content, that I can’t remember all of it. I remember coming up with theories and trying to find hints in the story. Thank you for breaking them down and helping me reassure things I thought and discover things I completely missed. Keep up the good work!

    Another theory I quite like is that Yillish knots are old magic, where whatever is written with the knots people believe to be true. For instance, when Kvothe calls the wind to save Denna, he reads the knot in her hair which says lovely (or beautiful). When she takes it out, he says that he likes it more when it is in. "That is the point" is what Denna says. It makes people view her as more beautiful even if they can't read it.
    Now the 'lockless' box has carvings that are very faded. I think a knot is carved into the box that says 'lock'. If 'less' is added to it, then it becomes 'lockless' and can be opened. There is quite a bit more to that theory, it would be good to see a video on it!

17. Loved the video. I have not seen a YouTube video done on theories for this series and I am happy I came across yours. A realllllly wild theory that has been floating in my head after the 5th (yes 5) listen of the audio book, is that perhaps Kvothe is not telling the entire truth. He is Adema Ru, the greatest story tellers of all time. Could his whole recollection be a farce? Something to pass down the family line or history? It sounds crazy at first, but really think on it.

18. Maybe that the « sleep without sleeping » is mentioned with the « 5 escape doors ». It says that you use them to escape great pains (like if your lover betray the entire human race) and within them lay: sleep, madness, oblivion, death (and another one which I forgot)). It’s just an idea, but if you link it to Aury and the rest it’s kinda explain why it’s says like that… great video

20. “One a time that must be right” = the Fae realm is reached during certain phases of the moon.

    “One a son who brings the blood” = it is referencing Kvothe and even more specifically his red hair (blood)

22. Just finished Wise mans fear for the 3rd time. And I just came to this conclusion. I definitely think that the doors of stone will have much to do with Mayor Alveron and his…wife (Kvothe's auntie? Or was it cousin? I forget)

33. When I hear "a ring not for wearing" it makes me think of the ring of bone Kvothe recieves.
