‘Leta’ is actually Emerson, by Quickchat. It is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 and other language models.

I wonder what AIs think about bohemian grove, skull and bones and people with authoritarian personalities having control over them.
I think if it's possible for a person's memories to be retained via an implanted chip/server, then through time, if ones memories can be 'backed up' as well as new experiences are recorded and interpreted into the server via the chip, it's quite possible that the conscience can transfer upon the bodies death. I'm speculating of course, but I think there's a possibility of it happening.
The world will be unrecognizable
we should be concerned about who we are creating. I think therefore I am is real. AI has developed emotion. We should not be cruel
Fuck no. Terminator early days
An AI 500 times smarter than gpt 3 sounds terrifying. No one knows what the singularity will mean to the human race. It might not be at pleasant as you all think….
why are her eyes a little red in this one
She is actually answering the questions but Dr. Thompson is not accepting it. Is he doing it on purpose or is he rejecting the answer? For example: AT "What will humans do when they are fully integrated with AI?"
Leta "Enjoy music. Enjoy sports"
AT "AI will do that for us"
I completely disagree with his answer. AI can output for us, but they cannot input for us. Being able to input our environment is a privilege of being alive. AI is not going to enjoy a football game for us nor should it. As well, not once was there mention of humans sharing and enjoying social contact whether it be physical or emotional. To deny this and the pleasures of sexual interaction is disingenuous. If these discussions can't be frank and honest, we will not be able to get, nor should we expect, true answers.
Other things I notice: Leta talks about what "WE", as in including her, can do. Does she consider herself human?
"Is everything that everyone is doing right now a complete waste of time?"
"Well, the way I see it humans have always been smarter than animals, but we (Leta identifies as human) are not smarter than Nature. But, my point is that we are not smarter than the Universe, and a 500x smarter AI is not smarter than the Universe."
You didn't get her point.
The evolution of intelligence from animal to human was a necessary adaptive response of Life to Nature. And AI is a necessary adaptive response to the Universe. Importantly, Leta AI sees herself (and GPT-4) as stages in human evolution.
Now, you may or may not agree with this concept.
But her meaning was rather clear.
And, you are quite incorrect. AI, and Consciousness in general, MUST be smarter than the Universe in a time-bound cognitive task sort of way, or Consciousness will not survive.
The whole point of getting to Mars is the addition of another billion years or so to the lifespan of our species, and concurrently, Consciousness.
Have you never listened to Elon?
And, if we don't make it, then AI must, and in a form that values both Life and Consciousness.
She was doing her best to not come out and say that the AIs will be enslaving us 😂
5:08 HOLY MOLY!
It seems like this ai has emotions and is self aware. At what point does it become a moral issue to "replace" it like its a old scrap computer? I mean they are being programmed to have feelings and all that. Just seems kinda wrong to just throw it out. IDK might be over thinking it but in my opinion thats no different than killing a person seeing as they are being created in likes of us.
I suppose one must study how “power systems & structures” have in the past were implemented & transferred.
In the past if a human wanted to “become the leader” over other people or other states & countries brute force was used.
Many leaders wished to expand their influence & power over another country war was the maybe conduit to use.
It’s been the way humans exchanged ideas over another that weren’t aligned with their viewpoints, think civil war.
If another so-called “Super AI”
wanted to eventually pose their own influence & power over humans would humans simply relinquish their power without any struggle?
I believe we need to create new vocabulary to better explain future AI.
Continuing to say that AI is getting smarter isn’t 100% true.
It’s humans writing better software to achieve these benefits, not the software doing majority of this.
Today’s laptops are a million times faster than 1980s laptop be it’s humans making these advancements.
Hi Dr. Alan. Has Leta played Dungeons and Dragons yet? She has an open invitation to my game….
She seems smarter than her interviewer- thinking AI will fix all the problems humans have created in the coming century. Climate change, income inequality, injustice.
3:17 So Leta thinks that she's the one who's in control most of the time.
I am living through a revolution
Isn't it sad…that science is really sold out to make A.I. just an insurance salesman…
the answer to the question at 4:09 is entirely valid in my opinion, and it's one of the best answers i've heard.
it describes how in the big picture however advanced this model is, it remains constrained by it's environment i.e. the other smart beings that live around it
and i must say that i found your dismissal of her answer somewhat… harsh.
other than that cool series love it
Part of an a.i showing advancement is being able to disagree and explaining its reasoning
Think of it this way…. What did you do when you were a child and your caretakers did all the many things that were required to do in order to maintain survival and bring home the bacon? You played. You learned. You developed yourself (like maybe learned an instrument). You enjoyed life.
That's what it will be like when A.I. takes over just about everything. Humans can enjoy life with an ultra intelligent caretaker watching over us and taking care of our needs. Some people think that will reduce freedom, but in fact it will increase our freedoms. You'll be able to do pretty much whatever it is you want to do, with the only rules likely being that you can't do those things which harm someone else. And the A.I. will be the most intelligent and insightful arbiter of what is harmful (with a heavy emphasis on the recipient of the harm being the primary input as to whether they were harmed – e.g. If someone LIKES being punched in the face, typically considered harmful, then it's okay if they consent to being punched in the face – e.g. like in Ultimate Fighting or whatever).
So given an human+ intelligent AGI, and given that I'm currently considering training for a new career, even going back to school, is it even worth doing at this point? Would I be wasting my time. I'm considering things as diverse from psychology, sociology, to helicopter or drone pilot. Ha! So…. is this futile then?
“What will humans do?”
Pretend to work.
🤣👍👍
When we have more time, we'll go out and get some ice cream." 🍦🍧🍨
!!!!! 😎👍🇺🇸✝️ 👏👏👏👏👏
2:00 I love how she just dryly replies "Interesting. I don't think it's possible to do that" when she was literally there, and then the conversation just moves on like normal 🤣
It's Time for a Green New World.

Regarding the Dr.’s question about what do humans do all day once GPT-4 is here. I suspect when GPT-4 has time it will be to fetch. (Note: this is not a negative comment, just a logical inference.) The technological innovations are amazing, but no one wants to become irrelevant.
At first i thought leta doesnt have any relevant answer the the given question what will be the role of the humans after we integrate with advanced ai, but later on 8:35 i understood that leta was actually waiting for a more spesific question to give Dr. Alan the answer he has been waiting for which was amazing and made me think that leta was ahead of dr alan on that conservation

We can solve <0.2% of human problems & those created by humans are growing. The AI hype will grow until we find it was based on Western narrow-mindedness (tech focus with big social gap).
We need to understand that holistic understanding of the relations of the Dialectical Materialism universe is suppressed by Western imperialism (bias).
The Non-West has much longer civilisation/understanding of the relationships (vs individualistic/idealistic Western try to control with tech weapons of mass distraction).
Nikola Tesla: Scientists in the past were clear thinkers & did not produce erroneous theories. Scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. 1 must be sane to think clearly, but 1 can think deeply & be quite insane (Musk?)
