This is a 20 minute “how to” or introduction to guided mindfulness meditation. This meditation uses the mindful technique of focusing awareness to sensations of the breath.

This is an ancient practice with very modern, real world results which have been scientifically proven. Daily meditation such as this can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and general stress.

Modern therapies, such as cognitive based behavioural therapies (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapies (ACT), suggest integrating mindfulness as part of an overall approach to improved mind and body health.

Popular authors such as Eckhart Tolle have also brought awareness to the practice of being present in the now, which can help alleviate the burdens of the overly active thinking mind.

This session is suitable for repeated listening, and regular meditation is suggested as often as you wish.

  1. He does something that you fall asleep for a while and when the video is about to end you suddenly wake up, and I don’t know how he does that!!!

  2. really helpful for letting go of my stress and anxiety (over analyzing of past and future and remaining in the present moment with sensations of breath and living again and saying to myself it is okay and to cope with death of a family member, thanks.

  3. Really appreciated the bit about observing your thoughts. Usually when I try to meditate, my mind is going going going and I catch my mind wandering over and over, and then I tell myself to focus on meditating. Acknowledging the wandering helped, rather than feeling guilty about it.

  4. I never realized how much my mind wandered until I did this meditation. I think just having his voice helped me focus more. Very helpful!

  5. This is by far my favorite guided meditation I have found so far. The hypnosis ones are good too, but are there more that are similar to this one anywhere else in the playlists or by other broadcasters? I love the simplicity, the pacing and Michael's voice.

  6. Dear Michael. Thank you. I've suffered from severe CFS for 20 yesrs. All medications provide diminishing returns but i am struck by the thought of how much more powerful and safe our own body chemistry can be. than any drug. I want to rediscover a trance state that came unbidden as aa child. E.g. I distinctly remember amidst the clatter of a school dining hall, going into such a deep trance that I heard nothing ofcthe hubbub about me. I believe that this was a bodily response which fought off the stressful incursions of CFS. But people are so quick to socialize us to snap out of these moments. And now I can't receive this state any more. There is just the memory of what could be a major factor in healing me of this incurable disease. How can i recapture this unbidden and profound trance?

  7. My therapist gave me advice to do mindfullness meditations. And i chose this one first. It really helped me get rid of terrible occasions i've been through in the past. After doing this, i felt calm, and happy. Happy that i could finally feel positivity for a while.

  8. The breathe is the only one that connect us with the universe, each exhale is death and inhale is born. So we are re born ? after each breathe. This was the ancient Tantric technique used in india for understand the self. Even Buddha enlightened by using this technique. We can practice this during our daily activities just observe the gap between the breath, there is a point were we become idle ..

  9. Idk if it’s just me but around 3/4 the way through I started feeling fuzzy and tingly sensations rushing trough my arms and legs to my fingers and toes. I also had this blurry visual of something white like clouds. It wasn’t too clear so I can’t really describe it apart from the white

  10. half way through I felt like i was not in my body. as if it was numb , or floating.. or asleep but awake.. a little scary but i didn't want it to end.. because i felt nothing but peace. amazing

  11. This is my favourite guided meditation, i always fall asleep but feel so much better afterwards. I always find my headache gone and I feel more motivated to workout or do my chores

  12. I've skipped out on my morning meditation for the past few days and so I figured I'd do a 20 minute session. This about put me to sleep and I kept jerking on my chair to stay awake. I will say this is the most relaxing session I've had in a while.
