Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang on Saturday unveiled some plans for further promoting the development of artificial intelligence (AI) at a press conference in Beijing.
The press conference, themed on speeding up the building of an innovative country, is part of the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC).
Wan said that the Ministry of Science and Technology, together with a number of other departments, submitted a report on developing the new generation of artificial intelligent to the State Council guideline in July 2017 and it was officially published as a guideline for the industry. The first thing they did was to launch a platform for artificial intelligence, such as for Internet giants Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent.
