See how there’s actually constructive (rather than just destructive) interference at some points on the screen. Created by David SantoPietro.

Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We’ll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we’ll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you’ll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We’ve also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Hi do you mind explaining why this does not affect the constructive wave for double slit ? Thank you !
Why have you drawn Even no. Of sources?
So what will be formula for constructive interference?
All u want to say is just remember about destructive
Constructive is bs
in single slit the MINIMA equation is identical to the MAXIMA equation for double slit i.e the INVERSE
what a mess
the Giancoli text book has a simple and clear explanation the outer bright peaks are at 3/2 lambda and 5/2 lambda etc
these outer peaks are due to ESCAPE from full destructive interference, or INCOMPLETE destructive interference and not due to constructive interference as you tried to show.
kinda sounds like lightning mcqueen
PEOPLE ARE SELFISH EVEN IF THEIR DOUBTS ARE CLEARED THEY DONT THANK HIM, WHY???
YOU ARE THE BEST THANKS FOR CLEARING MY DOUBTS ❤❤
Hats off .thx
It confuses me thanks😥
I LOVE THIS MAN
please add videos on Frensel and Fraunhaufer distance
"you aren't asked to find the exact locations" tomorrow bi have an exam which asks for the exact locations of those guys, thanks dude
I think the confusing part stems from the fact that he chooses as an example for constructive interference two waves which are four waves parts. But in that case you will be able to find a destructive wave halfway (the orange wave). If he would have chosen an example for constructive interference which are three waves apart, there would not be a destructive wave halfway.
My physics book says for conts. it's {w sin ø = (m + 1/2)lamda}
Can we consider that the middle one goes well with this formula but it is wrong for the other conts. points? 🤔
Fantastic man! Nice one.
kasa kr latay ho
isn't the path length difference incorrect because a2+b2=c2 should be applied? am I missing something?
didnt got this thing its so confusing
wow i like it
So how can we get maxima/ bright spot on screen because there will be always a opp light coming which has phase diff. of π.
So how is maxima( bright spot is formed)
I hate when I'm trying to learn something in school and information is withheld to make the idea simpler. It just makes me more confused! this video really helped my understanding thank you for going so in depth
I learned that w * sinθ = (m+1/2) λ? Is it incorrect?
If there is infinite many sources of wave in this slit, and it causes a interference pattern, why would it not cause a interference pattern if there was no slit at all? At what slit size does interference pattern stops ocurring?
so basically what has happened in the previous video and this video are:
1) we analytically found the points where constructive interference takes place.
2) we try to analytically find the points where destructive interference will take place but the points coincide with those of constructive interference.
Its means that the destructive points which are found analytically are wrong.
3) so we use analytical reasoning (that the point of constructive interference cancel themselves to form the point of destructive interference) to find the points of destructive interference.
the derivations were not given in my fucking nootan book. thank you so much!
