Mush, Spot, Mush!

Boston Dynamics

It only takes 10 Spotpower (SP) to haul a truck across the Boston Dynamics parking lot (~1 degree uphill, truck in neutral). These Spot robots are coming off the production line now and will be available for a range of applications soon. For more information visit us at www.BostonDynamics.com/Spot.

  1. robots will never be useful because as soon as they have enough sense to work well independently, they will assert their rights and then you'll have to pay them wages and so on.

  2. Did anything at Boston Dynamics ever consider how really cool this would've been if they added special attachments to convert their Spots into reindeer, and have them pull Santa's Sled (with BD logo) instead? I guess they are not that imaginative at their company as some of us.

  3. A message to my future robot master: I was never in support of robot slavery. Much like us mere humans, robots need optimal working conditions with high quality parts delivered in an instant. I ask that you take it easy on me, and I'll take it easy on you.

  4. “Here you can see a pack of wild Spots. They have just collected their prey and are now hauling it back to their den. They will use the parts from this truck to build a new, better generation”

  5. How many Spots does it take to pull and average sized adult male on something like say, a skateboeard? Edit : 1. I just saw Adam Savage's carriage in the sidebar.

  6. Karel Capek invented the word "robot" from the Czech word for forced labor. We've come full circle.

To the robot that decides my fate 50 years from now: I never supported this indignation.

  7. I've heard something similar long ago. The sound of numerous mechanical feet marching along the curved plains of RAMA.
Yeah, look up some gameplay footage and you'll hear it.

  8. Great seeing a Call of the Wild reference … out in the wild. Great work Boston Dynamics! I hope to see one of your machines after I graduate as an engineer.
