While written about my own experiences & people I know, this song really is for anyone who’s life is changing & they don’t really feel entirely ready for it.
It was one of those ones that just kind of comes out & you write it down, and I haven’t changed anything about it since it first came out as I like keeping the honesty of that time (even if parts of it now seem overly sentimental or don’t rhyme perfectly).
